Introduction: Spinach Terrine

Step 0: You will need to get

Spinach Mix Ingredients:
• 2 cup spinach
• 2/3 cup water
• Spices to taste (Can be salt, pepper, oregano, or any other spices you want)
• 1 Shallot (optional)

Terrine Ingredients:
• 200g Spinach Mix
• 3.2g Agar Agar

Suggestions for Garnishes:
• Tomatoes
• Onions
• Salt and Pepper
• Olive Oil

Equipment:
• Blender
• Stove and Saucepan
• Pyrex 9 by 9 dish (or any dish that the terrine can set in)

Step 1: Blend Baby Blend!

Blend the spinach and water (and shallots if you have them) into a smooth liquid. Add spices to taste.

Step 2: Heating and Mixing Things Up

Take the spinach mix that you just made and pour it into a saucepan over medium heat. Then dissolve the agar-agar into the spinach mix . Bring this mixture to a boil and make sure to stir it constantly. Once it boils, take it off the heat and skim the mixture to rid it of impurities.

Step 3: Setting the Terrine

Now, pour the spinach-agar-agar mix into the dish you want it to set in (we used a Pyrex 9 by 9 pan, which worked well). Ideally, the terrine should be about half an inch thick. Let this sit flat in the fridge for about an hour. (We left our terrine in the fridge for an hour and it had set by then, but if you are impatient, feel free to check it before an hour is up. It should be firm to the touch when it is set.)

Step 4: Plating

Once the terrine has set, cut it up and make pretty plates! We suggest using things like tomatoes, onions, salt, pepper, and olive oil as garnish for the terrine. The terrine is pretty robust, so it should be pretty easy to handle while plating. Most importantly, have fun being creative and making beautiful plates of art!
