Stone Walking Path Construction & Drainage Setup for Your Lawn

If your lawn is swarming with moss, and if you don't like stepping stones then this plan is excellent for you. Well.. even though you wasted bunches of money for your garden in the spring times as well as buying fertilizers, torfs etc. , especially after winter time you'll observe that the soil is got covered with puffy ground moss. Also.. if you are putting those stupid cracky stepping stones on your garden everytime after you spread fertilized soil, by making you time wasted and annoyed by adjusting the each distances; then a walking path is a much healthier and maybe even decorative choice for your garden.

Step 1: Decide Then Outline

Initially, we need to determine where our walking path is needed to be contructed, instead of considering how it would look like. Function comes first but if your garden doesn't have a moss problem you can build anywhere you like but don't forget to build your walking path away from your house if you have a not well drained wet ground. The reason is; whenever it rains or water your garden, the collected water under your draining construction may leak into the base of your house which may cause moisture in the basement/ground floors and also gives harm to your house.
Once you decided where to build, we need a bunch of sish kebab sticks in terms of determining the outlines of our walking line. Obviously, a sinous-like "S" shape will give a more attractive look to your walking line. Well, if you think that your garden is too small, then you may use some depth tricks by playing with your sinous shape. For instance, the arrival point of your walking line comes to a sitting area, then you may tighten up the top side of the "S" from the point when you look through your sitting area. That will give a sense of deepness for your small lawn.
Once you decide the walking path shape after a trial of a normal walk :) , you can draw the outlines of the place where to be hollowed out.

Step 2: Start Digging

After on, its up to you to make the best incline by digging. Try to make canals to the wet areas. Once you finish that up, we gotta start to spill and lay the pebbles with huge amounts that we have. Tricky part is to lay the pebbles by forming a smooth ridge in the center of the walking line. For the best results lay down drainage pipes, use at least 2 sizes of it as well as spilling the smallest size on top, with a final drainage net very on top. (but don't forget to leave approx.10cm level gap on top)

Step 3: Fill With Stone Cips Then Start Paving

The final thing is the most challenging and maybe the most enjoying part of the construction. We need decorative stones (approx.100 for each 1metersquare) with 3 diffrent types (normal,cornered,big-spherical)
Randomly place the biggest stones first, then start the edges with cornered stones, and finally (but concurrently with cornered stones) the other stones that you have. Use a plactic hammer to place firmly. (use small pebbles for backup if needed).
Finally, pour and spread the seasand onto the path. do this for some days until you are sure its done. You dont need to use cement or any other sticker materials. Hope you like it.
