My daughter asked me to help her make a flower crown. She tried to do one by herself but she gave up knowing that her mother is very crafty. I can’t get close to real flowers because of my allergies, so fake flowers are my natural choice. Because I’m always collecting things, I didn’t have to go out and buy anything and had all the materials needed already at home.

At the beginning I was planning to use wire as the internal structure but when I went in to my craft room I saw silicone strip that I collected when I was working as a CNC operator seven years ago.

Step 1: Materials

You would need:

Sax
Glue gun
Scissors
Ribbons (green)
Artificial flowers and leaves
Wire (I used saw blades protection that I had at home)

Step 2: Let's Get Started!

Measure the size of the head of the potential user of the crown and add 1cm to be sure that it will fit.

Cut the wire (Plastic) and start to wrap it with the ribbon to give it more thickness and make a strong structure to attache the flowers to.

Step 3: Glue the Leaves

I tried to glue the flowers first but the leaves are made of fabric and weren't steady enough to be visible f I placed them after the flowers.

I must say that I really liked how it looked only with the leaves.

Step 4: Glue the Flowers

As I wrote at the beginning, I already had the flowers at home. The big ones were purchased at Ikea a couple of years ago. The other ones were purchased at the thrift shop a long time ago. I used them to decorate the house but lately I have them just for making costumes.

Step 5: Glue the Rest of the Flowers

Place the flowers and more leaves if you see some empty spots. You can see that I placed them randomly. It looks pretty cool and it doesn't need to be perfect, just let the inspiration flow.
