Step 3: Creating Your Fake Pull Tab

Now draw out and cut a tab that will fit the size of the width of the box. After that, cut a little rectangular indent and fold the corners.

Step 4: Tracing Your Cardboard Structure

Now that you have finished cutting your paper, place your pieces of cut paper on thin cardboard, and trace them.

Step 5: Matching Your Peices Together

Once you have finished cutting the cardboard, match the pieces of cardboard and the pieces of paper together in pairs as the picture shows above.

Step 6: Hot Gluing Your Paper to Cardboard

Now, squeeze hot glue onto the cardboard, and one by one glue the pairs together.

Now, for the first part of the box, glue the fake pull tab onto one of the 6 by 1 inch strips of paper.

Step 8: Sketching Your Design

Step 9: Tracing Your Design With Marker

Once you have your design drawn out, take permanent markers and color over them with the colors of your choice.

Step 10: Adding the Pull Tab to Your Box

Now, hold both the pull tab section and the body of the box together, and glue them together. Do the same with the rest of the pieces.

Step 11: Gluing Your Full Box Together

When you have finished gluing everything together, look it over again, and maybe put extra glue in a couple of places where it is lacking glue.

Step 12: You Have a Finished Valentine!
