Introduction: Thors Hammer,

About: im an avid cosplayer, who works in cardboard, paper mache, foam, resin, fibreglass, electronics and plastic pipes. im a gas fitter by trade and can fix any boiler, fire or appliance and i occasionally create …

thors hammer, made of scrap wood.
i made a cardboard one a while back and decided to make this staight afterwards, however i got sidetracked by life and have now made it.
basic recipe to cook this up, a block of wood, wooden pole, chrome tape, leather, drawing pins, leather sheet. and 22mm cap end and brass olive.

first i cut the pole down and cut the wood to size
then using a 22mm wood drill bit i drilled into the block and glued with a hot glue gun. to add stability i added a screw through the block into the handle.
then i used sandpaper to smooth the handle and rough up the head.
covered the head in chrome tape concealing any edges by rubbing with a dry cloth.
covered the handle in leather glueing and pinning to hold in place. I kept the pins in and pinned the opposite side for detailing as it looked cool.
used a brass olive and drilled a hole in a copper cap end to finish off the hilt
finaly put a screw into a purse/bag strap and screwed through the cap endinto the wooden handle.
the best avengers item ive made yet.
