Trident Coat of Arms. Brass Casting. Independence Day of Ukraine!

Today I'll make the coat of arms - The Trident. Why? Because it's a special day - the Independence Day of Ukraine! :) Before I've already made US coat of arms and Canadian national symbol.

Step 1: Loading a Crucible

To make this plaque I need approx 2.5 kg (4.4 lbs) of brass.

Step 2: Flask, Pattern, Green Sand

Making a mold using bentonite green sand.

Step 3: An Open Mold

I tried to make a plaque using an "open" casting method but it didn't work well. I decided to remake it.

Step 4: A Close Mold

This time I used "close" mold and got a great result.

Step 5: How It Looks?

The plaque weight is 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs). It looks very good after brushing :)
