Introduction: Öttbrett for Guinea Pigs

The Öttbrett is a toy for guinea pigs. I built it for a friend.

Excuse my bad English.

Step 1: Material:

You need:

2 boards (40x40cm)

Small boards (size after choice)

Saw

Drill:

3.5 cm; 0,3 cm; 0,4 cm; for deepening

Sandpaper

Screws

screwdriver

Step 2: Step 1: the Moving Parts

Paint upon the small boards the parts which can be moved later

by the guinea pigs.

I have taken a drop shape, but you can also take other forms.

Saw out this.

Step 3: Step 2: Drill Holes

Distribute the drops on one of the boards and mark the drill holes.

Bore then with 3,5 cm of drill holes in the big board.

Loop the edges of the bores and glue both board on each other.

Step 4: Step 3: Drill More Holes

Bore with the 0,4 cm thick drill holes in the tips of the drops. Drill according with this drill which makes thus deepening (I don’t know the word).

Then put them over the big holes on the board. Pay attention to the fact that these are completely covered. Mark to you the bores on the board and bore this with 0,3 cm of drill. Be careful, not to drill too deep.

Step 5: Step 4: Loop

Loop everything carefully.

Pay attention that the edges are completely smooth,

so that the guinea pigs cannot injure themselves.

Step 6: Step 5: the Assembly

Screw the drops on the board. Pay attention that the drops can move.

Now you can hide small little treats for the guinea pigs in the holes.

The guinea pigs will be able to shift the drops with their nose and come thus to the delicacies.
