This is a double rainbow that I made out of K'nex. It has no orange on it because I didn't have any orange tabbed connectors. But still I think this looks good. You can switch out the yellow connectors with orange tabbed connectors at the second row from the bottom. The entire thing is actually two identical flat rainbow layered together with blue rods. Step 1: Part's List

First thing's first.

Parts list:

Connectors:
38 - Red three solt connectors
38 - Green four slot connectors
38 - Yellow five slot connectors (or 76 if you don't have the orange tabbed connectors)
38 - Blue 3d connectors
72 - White eight slot connectors
36 - Purple 3d connectors
38 - Orange tabbed connectors (five slot)

Rods:
230 - Green rods
256 - White rods
22 - Black rods (White rod length)
44 - Blue rods

Total: 850 pieces

Step 2: The Color Part of the Rainbow-Part 1

In this step, we're going to build the band of colors.
Just follow the notes and the pictures.

1. Build 36 of these flat sections.

2. Get 2 blue rods.

3. Connect as shown.

4. Then take another flat section and attach it below the other one. Just keep doing that until you have 18 colored-pairs.

5. Build 2 of these.

6. Get 2 blue rods.

7. Attach them like the previous colored-pairs. This will get you a total of 19 colord-pairs.

Step 3: The Colored Part of the Rainbow-Part 2

In this step you connect all the pairs that you have built so that the rainbow curves.
Just follow notes and pictures.

1. Take 2 colored-pairs and attatch them as shown. Don't forget to attatch the bottom too!

2. Keep doing that.

3. More pairs.

4. More pairs.

5. The last pair you attatch should be the pair that doesn't have the purple connectors on top.

Now move on to the clouds!

Step 4: The Clouds-The Left Side

In this step we're going to make the left side of the clouds.
Just follow the notes and the pictures.

1. Build 2 of these.

2. Build 2 of these.

3. Attatch as shown. Don't forget the bottom!!!

4. Attatch as shown. Again, don't forget the bottom!!!

5. Connect blue rods as shown.

Now move on to build the right side!!

Step 5: The Clouds-The Right Side

In this step we're going to build the right side of the clouds.
Just follow the notes and pictures.

1. Build 2 of these.

2. Build 2 of these.

3. Attatch as shown. Don't forget the bottom!!!

4. Attatch as shown. Again, don't forget the bottom!!!

5. Connect blue rods as shown.

Step 6: Finished!!!
