Preserving Salt Dough Baby Hand and Foot Print Wall Hanging Sweet Memory:

our lives filled with happiness and our hearts filled with joy because of our little baby boy we have been dreaming of,with his tiny ten little fingers and ten little toes he is so sweet.

I want to do something which will be a long lasting memory for my baby.So i decided to create a wall hanging with his foot prints.I made this by using salt dough. salt dough is very easy to prepare and requires very less ingredients.salt dough is a wonderful product to create crafts,sculptures,ornaments.

Ingredients required for salt dough:

All purpose flour 1 cup

salt half cup

water 3/4 cup

PROCEDURE:

Take a bowl and add 1 cup of flour,half cup salt and mix properly.Now add water and mix thoroughly until all clumps are removed from the mixture.it should attain a dough consistency.Now transfer the dough to a flat surface and knead until it is smooth and thick.

If the dough is very sticky add little flour and if it is very dry add little water and knead.

Step 1: Procedure for Hand Print:

-Take the dough and roll flat with the rolling pin. Take the hand impression of your baby. Rolling should be thick.Now cut the border of the impression with knife.

-Bake in oven at 120 degrees for 2 hrs and allowed to dry.

-paint with oil paints.

Step 2: Procedure for Foot Print Hanging:

- First step is to create foot print of the baby. Roll the dough flat using rolling pin and take foot impression of the baby.

-rolling of the dough should be thick.

-Now cut the border of the impression with knife and keep aside.

Step 3:

-Next step is to create frame for foot print.

-Roll the dough again and cut frame in diamond shape.

-create borders for the frame by pasting thin strips in 4 corners of the frame.

-Make holes with straw on border to form some pattern.

-Base for foot print is ready. I placed my son foot print on the middle of the frame.

-I also made an hole on the top which can be used for hanging on the wall.

Step 4: Hanging Decorations:

-I made roses and leaves and pasted inside the frame.

-For making roses make about 5 small balls with dough.press the balls and flatten them.

-place the flattened pieces one above the other which form petals of the flower and roll them.

-cut the dough in to leaves shape and paste them.

-I also made small socks.

-Finally I baked the creation at 120 degrees for 2 hrs and allowed to dry.Depending upon the thickness it may take even more time.

-Finally painted all my creations with oil paints and used glitters.
