Introduction: Spray Painting

Spray painting is a method of painting by spraying paint in small dots, generally, around a stencil to get desired shapes. It is truly a fun exercise for children.

Material:

  • Paper/ Canvas/ Fabric
  • Acrylic Paint/ Water Colors
  • A glass of Water (for the dilution of paint)
  • Tape
  • Stencils
  • Tooth Brush
  • Silhouette portrait (Optional)
  • Scissors (Optional)

Step 1: Cut the Stencils

Take a ready-made stencil available online or cut a design from vinyl cutter plotter. You can download any design and cut manually with scissors as well.

Take a page and place stencil over it at the required space.

Here, we are using silhouette portrait cut stencil.

Step 2: Spray the Colour

Put colour on the tooth brush bristles and spray it by rolling your thumb across the bristles.

Spray on the stencil. Remember to cover the edges properly. You can also use two or three colors together to get more effects.

Do limit the amount of water otherwise you will get thicker spray marks.

Step 3: Final Step

Once you’re done with the spray work. Remove the stencil/tape and enjoy the design you have made.

As simple as that. A sure shot weekend exercise for all art lovers.
