Introduction: Towel Dispenser Repair

A few weeks ago we had a problem with our towel dispenser. I disassembled the necessary parts and fixed it. :)

Step 1: Materials & Tools

Materials

  • ply wood
  • wood glue
  • optional: PLA

Tools

  • pc with inkscape (optional: with rhino)
  • camera
  • laser cutter
  • optional 3D-printer

Step 2: Disassembling

I had to dismount a lot of things just to get to this small broken gear wheel. I then took the third picture, imported it in inkscape and started drawing the outlines.

Step 3: Laser Cutting

That was a really fast job for our laser cutter.

Step 4: Gluing

Because of the small dimensions of the gear wheel it was a little bit tricky to put on the wood glue.

Step 5: Finished!

After assembling our towel dispenser with its new gear wheel it perfectly works again.

Step 6: Optional: 3D-Printing

Another method to repair the towel diespens is to use a cad-program and a 3D-printer.
