Hi Manika,Unfortunately this device was not intended to be able to make such fine control movements as would be required to hold a pen and write. That would require something almost completely different. It was designed or holding large items with minimal force using the wrist.Your best option for a design would be to contact an organisation such as the following:http://enablingthefuture.org/http://www.openbionics.org/

In regards to fine grip control, it is very difficult to achieve which is the reason why those devices are very expensive and use electronics and motors. I think your teachers have very unrealistic expectations on what can be achieved with a simple 3D printed prosthetic. I have included the base gripper files, if your course or study involves using CAD you can then you can modify them to design your own gripper for your project.
