I have had issues in the past with 2x12s when I don't use any kind of bracing to keep it from warping. That is why I attached a 2x3 frame around the edges with long screws. If you use nails instead of screws and wood glue, they can still become separated, but I have used this method a few times, and I haven't had too many issues.

For anyone else looking for the plans to build the matching table for these barstools, I do not have an instructable for this because I built it out of scrap material. Here is an instructable with a very similar design that could work as a matching table if you lengthen the legs to 41 inches and omit the cabinet portion.https://www.instructables.com/How-to-Build-a-Kitchen-Side-Table-With-Cabinets/
