Did you try Circuitpython support? Maybe que até using diferent versions of Circuitpython. Since I write this, Circuitpython was updated. I am dealing with COVID 19 in my country.

Robert, sorry for the long waiting...It takes me a long time to check the comments here from Instructables. Sorry. I'm not participating very actively.Manufacturers sometimes use different nomenclatures for the same pins.In my board LED pin is BLK pin (Backlight).

I really do not know. Here the same thing happens. To solve this I have to reset Pico. When I finish executing the code, the REPL appears on the display (this is happening to me on any display, not just the OLED). I get the impression it's something with the displayio library. Perhaps the most suitable place for this question is the CircuitPython forum. I have this problem on several other boards.
