With Christmas 2019 out of the way and we were disappointed (here in the UK at least) not to have a white Christmas, however like the hero I am I have come to your rescue.

If the weather lets you down, not fear, I have put together some of the Fake Snow recipes I have tried over the year with the nephews for various effects and uses

Be it plans for next years elf on the shelf, decorations, using in photos or just entertaining the kids and building their Frozen toys a habitat you don't have to wait on the weather to make your wintry wishes come true.

Just follow these various instructuons to make fake snow.

Each is the perfect consistency for building mini snowmen, snowballs and even small igloos.

Step 1: Recipies.....

Now there are "fake snow" products out there that you can purchase, we got some for Christmas 2019 and while watching it grow/expand was great, it wassnt as much fun and lacked the ability to build stuff and honestly due to this it did hold the nephews attention for long.

Any way here are 5 recopies we have used that work well.

1. Baking soda and shaving cream. Mix together 1 pound of baking soda, and slowly add shaving cream until you reach the perfect snowy consistency. Let kids knead the fake snow with their hands until it's all combined.

2.Baking soda and water. Pour 1 cup of baking soda into a bowl, and add water one tablespoon at a time. Use a fork or a whisk to stir the two ingredients together, adding more water as you go. When it's light and powdery, it's ready to play with!

3. Baking soda and conditioner. For this recipe, be sure to use white conditioner so your fake snow looks just like the real stuff. Start with 1/2 cup of conditioner, and use a fork to stir in about 3 cups of baking soda. This snow packs very well and is great for making snowmen!

4. Shaving cream and cornstarch. Mix equal parts shaving cream (foam, not gel) and cornstarch for this recipe, which makes a dense, foamy snow that is very easy to mold.

5. Cornstarch and lotion. Mix together equal parts cornstarch and lotion for this crumbly snow recipe. If you're looking for a more powdery snow, add slightly less lotion than cornstarch.

Tips to make your Fake Snow even better and more enjoyable.

Give your fake snow some added sparkle with glitter
Pop your fake snow in the freezer to make it cold to the touch just like real snow.
Provide kids with cookie cutters, plastic utensils and Veg for snowman decoration
