La Castanyada és una festa tradicional catalana. Les castanyes es torren al foc i s'emboliquen en paper de diari. En els dies freds de tardor, els nostres avis s'escalfaven les mans amb aquestes paperines de castanyes acabades de torrar. Després es poden pelar i menjar. Avui dia ja gairebé ningú torra castanyes. La festa de Halloween sembla que té més èxit! Amb aquestes castanyes terrorífiques he intentat fer un mix entre les dues tradicions.

La Castanyada is a traditional Catalan celebration. Chestnuts are lightly roasted and wrapped in newspaper. On the cold autumn days, our grandparents warmed their hands with these bags of freshly roasted chestnuts. Then they can peel and eat. Nowadays, almost nobody roasts chestnuts. Halloween party seems to be more successful! With these terrifying chestnuts I have tried to make a mix between the two traditions.

Step 1: Necessitem/We Will Need...

Castanyes , Claus o cargols, Cartolina, Feltre, Cinta de coure, Makey Makey kit, Soundplant, Anell màgic.

Fem forats al feltre, col.loquem aquest sobre la cartolina i fem una marca.Enganxem la cinta conductora des del marge de la cartolina fins a les marques que havíem fet i cobrim la cartolina amb el feltre per amagar els circuits.

Chestnuts,Screws, Cardcrew, Felt, Copper tape, Makey Makey kit, Soundplant, Magical ring.

Make holes in the felt, put this on the card and make marks. Stick the conductive tape from the margin of the card up to the marks that we made and cover the card with the felt in order to hide circuits.

Step 2: El Truc/the Trick...

Les castanyes són molt seques i per això són poc conductores, per això he usat cargols per fer-les més conductores.

Chestnuts are very dry and therefore they are not very conductive, so I have used screws to make them more conducive.

Step 3: Connectem/Connect

Connectem els cables a la cinta conductora i a la placa Makey Makey

Connect the cables to the conductive tape and to the Makey Makey

Step 4: Busquem Sons Terrorífics/Looking for Terrifying Sounds

Busquem sons o els gravem i els col.loquem a la paleta del Soundplant.

We look for sounds or we record them and place them in the Soundplant's palette.

Step 5: L'anell Màgic/Magical Ring

Connectem el terra del Makey Makey amb l'anell a través d'un cable de coure i donem l'anell a l'intèrpret. Ara ell té el poder de fer sonar les Castanyes Terrorífiques!

Connect the Ground of the Makey Makey with the ring through a copper wire and give the ring to the player. Now he has the power to sound the Terrifying Chestnuts!
