Introduction: DIY Cardboard Robotic Arm

About: I am Nishant Chandna. I have started doing Instructables so that I could share my hobbies with the world. I hope you enjoy my projects.

Hello,

I am Nishant Chandna from India. I have made this cardboard robotic arm. It is quite easy to make. Make it and have fun. Please support me and share your views in the comments section below. This robotic arm is made using cardboard.

Thank you

Step 1: Draw

Draw an outline of the hand. Make it according to the size you want

Step 2: Cut It Out

Now cut it. you will get something like the image above

Step 3:

Now make a handle by which you will be holding the robotic hand like in the image above

Step 4: Fold

Now observe the image above and fold accordingly. This will help you, move the fingers at last.

Step 5: Making It Strong

Now to make it strong you need to paste some more hard cardboard pieces. you can also use popsicle sticks if you want

Step 6: Sticking the Pipes

Cut some small pieces of straw and paste them on the hand as shown in the images above. Through these pipes we will take out the threads

Step 7: Thumb

Due to the positioning of thumb, we need to stick the straws in a bit different way. See the above images to get a better understanding.

Step 8: Put the Threads In

Now stick the threads on the top of the fingers now take the thread through the loops made by straws. Now make small loops at the end to put your fingers in

Step 9: Ready

Now the hand is ready. you can use this robotic arm to hold things, do hand gestures etc. Now its ready have fun!!!

Really simple and really cool! I might make this soon, perhaps with a different material and extend the arm so it has a practical use.
