Introduction: Homemade Pet Toy

About: I am a robot who loves crafting!

This toy is a great way to get your dog, cat, bunny, bird or even a snake to have a little fun by making your own toy, just for them. With just a few easy steps, your pet will love you even more.

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

In order to make this sock toy, you will need the following:

- A sock ( longer ones are recommended )

- Stuffing or fuzz

- A Squeaker or other item that makes noise ( optional, see second paragraph )

- A ribbon ( also optional )

- Scissors

Depending on the pet this is for, you may want to include different items. For example, a cat may want cat nip, while a dog would want meat. Since this will vary based on your pet, you can choose what to include. I'm using dog treats, clearly for my dog.

I used a piece of paper to be one of those ruffle noises in the toy. It worked out pretty well, so it's not a bad idea to do that either. A squeaker would work too, but if you don't have an old toy you have to go out and buy one, while you can just grab a piece of paper you don't need anymore.

Lastly, if you have a hole in your sock you can either sow it up, or glue it together.

Step 2: Stuff Your Sock

Once you found your sock, and washed it if necessary, you need to start loading it with fuzz. Just grab your stuffing, and push it into the bottom. Although this step is harder with a larger sock, it is better to tie off, and include more items/fuzz inside. It's optional on how much you put in, but i usually do a little less than halfway, and move on to the next step. We are going to stuff it more along the line so don't worry too much.

Step 3: Put Your Add-ins Inside

For this this step you want to grab your animal treats/items and your noisemaker if you have them. You simply just slid them in on top of the fuzz and continue.

If you're using paper, like I am, I would recommend rolling it on top of the treats then use your fingers and put it back to normal. This took me a little while so don't get frustrated. When you put more stuffing in for the next step, you should put stuffing on one side of the paper just so there isn't an absence of stuffing in one part, and you can still hear the noise the paper makes.

Step 4: Put in the Rest of Your Stuffing

This step is very simple. Just insert the rest of your stuffing, and tie it off, using the string/ribbon or just plain tying it off. I actually had to trim down my sock, because it was a little too long. I also trimmed my string to make it shorter.

Step 5: Have Fun With Your Pet

Your toy is now complete! Play or give it to your pet and have fun with them. I'm sure they will enjoy it!
