Introduction: Laptop Stand With Storage

About: Hello! I do craft.

Hello!

This Instructable will show you how to make a cardboard laptop stand with an area for storing additional items. This is really useful if you have a laptop that overheats easily like my one.

If you are going to make this, i advise you read it through before following it step by step as you could get confused and do something wrong. If there is a part you dont understand, feel free to put it in the comments :)

Supplies

  • cardboard
  • pen or pencil
  • ruler
  • something sharp ( e.g a compass end)
  • a bead or something that can be used as a handle
  • craft knife

Step 1:

First you will need to measure your laptop and make two identical cardboard pieces that are slightly bigger than it. You will also need to cut two strips of cardboard that are the same length as the big pieces. The width of these strips will determine how thick your stand will be at the end of the craft.

Step 2:

Attach both of the thin strips to one of the pieces of cardboard like the photo above.

Step 3:

Now you need to make a draw. Make sure the draw is no bigger than half of the size of one of the big cardboard pieces. It also needs to be just a little less than the width of the two thin strips we cut earlier. This is to stop the draw from scraping and not working properly. You probably notice how there is a bit cut out of both of the side pieces of the draw. This is just getting ready for another step. Once you have made the draw put it into the bit we have made already so it looks like the second picture above.

Step 4:

Now attach a dowel or reed stick to the structure so it looks like the photo above. It basically stops the draw from being pulled out completley or from being pushed in too far.

Step 5:

Cut a strip of cardboard the same width as the other two on the sides and punch holes in it. Attach it to the structure so it looks like the second picture above.

Step 6:

Take the other big cardboard piece and punch some holes in it. Stick it to the top of the structure.

Step 7:

Attach a bead or handle to the draw.

Step 8:

And you are done! Thank you for reading this instructable!
