I became bored and decided that I wanted to make a jewelry item that nobody else in the area wears. After looking through Instructables, I failed to find one that interested me(that I haven't already made, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. So, what do I make it out of. And the it hit me: MAGNETS.

I realized that this is a wonderful alternative to simply throwing away the magnets set. there were mass recalls for the product due to the fact that the magnets were being swallowed, after dislodging from the plastic:

It would be horrible to know that I had thrown these magnets away and some gull or rat at the garbage dump had died from swallowing these. I would feel horrible :(

Anyway, this is kinda "green" and whatnot, so I figure enter it into the Epilog challenge. I am not truly expecting to win, or even come close, but hey, why not?

BTW- I do not own a digital camera(that makes me sad), so all images were taken with my cellular phone, which happens to be a Motorola V3M Razr. Not awesome quality, I am afraid. Sorry about that.

Step 1: Gather Tools, Ammunition, and Sacrificial Building Toys.

I used:

-Pliers. Always a good thing to have.
-4.5 millimeter Zinc-coated, steel BB's. Magnetic, obviously.
-RoseArt Magnetix magnetic building set. (shapes)

If you have the stuff laying around like I did, this can be done for free. Or you could purchase the magnetic building set, or simply the magnets alone. That is up to you.

Step 2: Harvest the Magnets From the Bulding Set.

If you happen to have a number of neodymium magnets laying around, you can skip this step.
Grab a piece with the pliers, and pretend you are the Incredible Hulk!!! GRRRR SMASH!!!!! Yep. Just crush it. Be careful though, shards of plastic may fly everywhere; eye protection is suggested. Once shattered, the magnets will likely stick to your pliers. They like magnetic items.

Step 3: Assemble.

Gather a good amount of your BB's. I felt like being smart, so I used the rod of magnets to go "fishing" for the spheres of magnetizable goodness.

Anyway, on to business. I chose to alternate between the BB's and the magnets, every other unit. Feel free to experiment with it. After all, it is your bracelet thingy.

Step 4: Finish and Enjoy!!

Keep adding until it reaches a good diameter, so that it will easily fit around your wrist.

I used 26 each of the magnets and the BB's. You will most likely use less, I tend to have a large wrist.

Place it on your wrist and let it close. Now go out and model your awesome wrist decoration.

Step 5: Afterword.

Now, as far as magnetic damage to electronic devices, credit cards, and that whole slue of gibberish, it may be possible, but like I said, I do not know the grade of these magnets, but I have yet to have a problem with it, I had found one of these magnets attached to my hard-drive(I forgot to put the side panel back on after installing a new graphics card) and it did NO damage. But, if you do not want to risk it, do not take the chance.
