In this instructable i will show you how i made these mana earrings in 1-2-3

Step 1: Materials and Tools

-A pair of pliers

- A pair of small cork bottles (got mine at a hobby shop, but you can probably find them cheaper on Ebay)

- Some earring hooks (jewellery or hobby shop)

- A pair of small screw eyes (at least that's what i think they are called)

- Some food colouring of you choosing, i went for blue

Step 2: Putting It Together

- Use the pliers to open the eye screw and connect the earring hooks as shown.

- Screw it into the cork

- Mix a tiny amount of food colouring until you reach the colour you are looking for and pour it into the bottles (this can be a little tricky so i used a tiny funnel)

- Push the corks in and secure it with glue if you are uncertain it wont hold.

Step 3: Wuhuuu Done!!

Very nice. I make these earrings often, and have found that the colored water fades after a time. Keeping the earrings out of sunlight when not being worn helps. Using a pre colored liquid works even better. For earring like you made, window cleaner would be a close match, and those products are designed not to fade.

For a two colored effect, use a water based liquid and an oil based one. An eyedropper is helpful for this, and because some of these materials can have dangerous reactions, I use a water/food color mixture for one of the liquids, even though it will fade eventually. I then use an air freshener that comes in oil form to be used in a plug in receptacle. A refill bottle of the oil is pretty easy to find and the very light scent coming through the cork is nice.

Did I mention that I always glue the cork in place with a jewelry adhesive? I had an earring fall apart on someone, leaving them with a piece of cork hanging from her ear and some nasty stains on her shirt. I'd feel even worse if it was air freshener oil that had spilled.

Anyway, thank you again for the terrific instructable. Your earrings are lovely.
