Painted Desert Silver and Resin Necklace

Introduction: Painted Desert Silver and Resin Necklace

About: I started making jewelry a few years ago although I have always been interested in sewing, embroidery, painting, enameling, anything that used color and different media. I have so enjoyed the creativity this …

This necklace is completed hand fashioned, starting by punching out sterling circles in various sizes.  Bezel wire is then soldered to each to create a cup.  The chain is made by wrapping silver wire around a rod and then sawing the rings.  They are attached to form the chain and soldered to the bezel cups and to themselves to make the chain.  A fish hook or toggle closure is made and attached, usually with gemstone bead dangles.  The resin is hand mixed using various dyes, powders, chalk, paint, ink and then combined with glitter, beads, crystals or other types of inclusions.  These necklaces are time-consuming and require an intermediate ability to solder but each one is unique and very fun to make.  See more of these and similar styles at http://brimstonestudioatl.etsy.com.  Please let me know if you have any questions! http://brimstonestudioatl.etsy.com
