Introduction: Recycle Old Furniture

I saw on pinterest where many people used old drawers as planters.

The other day as I was walking around my husband's shop, I noticed two draws in the junk pile. I asked him if I can have them. He said "no!" No more junk (which is weird because usually he's the pack rat and I throw everything away)!

.......So I waited until he wasn't around and took them from the junk pile! (And forced him to help me ;)

Hence this instructable was born!

Step 1: Gather the Materials

Materials:

2 drawers,
An old headboard,
And a handful of screws.

Hose down the drawers, remove the back part ( slidy thing).

*We decided not to paint the drawers, but of course that might be a step you would like to do.

Next, we used an old headboard for the legs. My husband cut the poles into 9 inch sections and then evened them out with the table saw.

Step 2: Add the Legs

Last, we added the legs to the drawers using a drill and screws.

Step 3: Soil, Seeds and Water

Add soil to each box and plant whatever seed you want.

We planted lettuce and herbs in the boxes.

Place in yard and water!

We placed one box by the chicken coop and made a corner flower bed.

The other one went to the front yard to break up my oregano and mums.
