Introduction: Radioactive Slime!

About: Hi everyone :) I enjoy making cool stuff and learning new things from online projects :) I am currently in my third year of mechanical engineering and enjoy posting videos on YouTube.

Hi everyone. This is my first instructable so I am very excited to share this with you guys :) I am going to show you how to make a radioactive-looking slime with materials you can find at any grocery store. Let's begin :)

Step 1: Watch Demostration Video

Step 2: Gather All Materials

For this project you are going to need:

  • Clear glue
  • Contact lens solution
  • Baking Soda
  • A highlighter
  • Optional: straws to blow bubbles into the slime

Step 3: Add 1/4 Cup of Glue to a Container

Step 4: Add 1 Tbs Baking Soda and Mix Well

Step 5: Add 1 Tbs of Contact Lens Solution

You will notice that the mixture is not sticky anymore so you can start mixing it with your hands.

Step 6: Add a Highlighter

You can open up a highlighter so that you can pull out the cotton tube that is soaked in neon yellow ink. You just have to twist the cotton tube and the ink will start dripping right away. I didn't use gloves for this park so I got the ink all over my hands LOL so I would recommend using disposable gloves if you have some. Once the ink tube is empty, you can mix the slime with the ink to obtain your radioactive slime!

Step 7: For Cool Effects, Use Black Light

This slime looked pretty awesome under black light because it glows in the dark. I would also recommend using a think straw, like the ones you get when you buy bubble tea, to blow air into the slime. You can get MASSIVE bubbles! Some of mine were as big as my head lol

I hope you guys try it and you let me know what you think :)
