If you have ever seen the reusable heating pads that have a little metal peice in them that when you click it the bag crystallizes and heats up. This is the same process

He uses the same design as a dyson fan. They are “bladeless” because there are no visible blades.https://www.quora.com/How-does-the-Dyson-fan-work-with-no-propeller

No problem. That's why we can all help each other!! Lead solder can be toxic and some melt at lower temps so it may come loose while lighting the wood chips.

thanks for the feed back. To adhere a large bowl on top you could use JB Weld high heat epoxy. It is a product used to seal heat manifolds on engines and good to 400°C. This will set solid and not release any toxics with the low temps for the smoking!! Just a thought.

I know!! thats where the idea came from!! I purchased all my parts for $15 US and it works great!! Instead of a solid pipe I used a flexible hose so i can leave the smoker a just move the pipe!! I look forward to any pictures you post!!! Thank you!!

Thank you so much!! I love simple things and this is as simple as it gets!! Smoked mashed potatoes, smoked cheese and with an airtight container you can pump in a great deal of smoke and seal it to trap in the flavour as well!! Post you pictures and we can all see them!!

I have a DC SSR kicking around the house so it will be an easy upgrade as well, the other thing I am looking at is using a 5v DC motor to run an Impeller so the water moves more gently and no submerged motor. This motor will be mounted in the project box with a driveshaft. Much more elegant design.

Thanks for the advice. I have run into the heat issue and have a heatsink purchased. As I have started school and don't have a lot of time I am going to rebuild and upgrade the system. I am starting Electronic System Engineering so I may pick up even more ideas. I will post a new Sous Vide when I get it done. Take some time and vote for the Cake I have in the Cake Decorating contest.

I have. It's usually within .5°C. Pretty good for this setup and you can adjust menu times to help.
