I help plants grow in dark places - no sun needed. I can easily be attached to any existing plant pot and provide light to the plant. Do you work in a windowless office space, or maybe your house doesn't get any direct sunlight - no problem, the plant arm is here to help..

the 3rd picture shows my planned wireless package upgrade (the plant arm pro). with this upgrade, the plant arm will be able to keep a picture log of the plants growth since seedling stage, turning it into an online time-lapse video, so the user can watch the over time growth anytime/anywhere. the user will also be able to turn on the camera and check up on his/her plant via any internet capable mobile device.

below is a video of the plant arm pro being used together with the plant doctor (an earlier clay model). they easily can be attach and used together, giving the user a better overall control over their plant's health. the plant arm is also compatible with the plant pot.

Step 1: Frame

my body is made out of perforated metal hanger. this metal can easily be bent by hand to adjust to the new size requirements of the plant.

an upside down U shape can be given where I connect to the plant pot, this way the user can easily slide me in/out from the pot.

the LED lights are secured to a 16 gauge galvanized nail stopper. this thick yet very light steel acts as a passive coolant for the lights.

everything is secured together with 2 nuts & bolts. 1 at the base where I connect to the pot and 1 up top to secure the light bar.

Step 2: Electrical

I am equipped with;

4x 1W high power LEDs (2x warm white, 2x cool white)

1x on/off switch

1x LED driver

1x AC cable

apply a little amount of metal epoxy under each led and secure them to the flat bar.

now connect the LEDs all in series.

connect the - negative wire straight to the LED driver

connect the + positive wire to the outer leg of the toggle switch

connect the middle leg of the toggle switch to the LED driver

connect the other end of the led driver to the AC cable.

my planned upgrades are;

3x 3W high power LEDs yielding 9W of energy - using the same amount of space

webcam module

wifi module

Step 3: Conclusion

I am planned to get a 3D printed cover upgrade for the frame and hide all the wires better. I am also planned to get a rechargeable battery/solar skin upgrade to be more mobile.
