Introduction: DIY Spooky the Asteroid Costume

Trick-or-treaters won't be the only ones making an appearance outside this Halloween. NASA is reporting that on October 31st an asteroid named Spooky is set to zoom right past the Earth! In an effort to celebrate this space rock's Halloween appearance, Wholesale Halloween Costumes has created a step-by-step guide of how to dress up as an asteroid this Halloween.

Here's what you'll need:

Materials
- A Heavy Duty Black Garbage Bag
- Yellow & Red Spray Paint
- Black Skin Suit
- Red metallic Fringe Curtain
- Red/Yellow Wig
- Over-sized Orange Sunglasses

Step 1: Creating the Costume

Use crumpled up newspaper or packing material to fill up the garbage bag to give it its shape and then temporarily seal it using a twist tie.

Once the garbage bag has its shape, use the red and yellow spray paints to cover the bag - alternating between the two colors. Don't completely cover the bag; allowing some of the black to peak through will add to the authenticity of your space rock.

When you're satisfied with the bag, leave it to dry completely.

Once dry, empty the bag and cut a hole on the closed bottom large enough for your head. After the head hole has been created, be sure to cut smaller holes on either side of the bag for your arms.

Step 2: Accessorize!

From there, put on your black skin suit, followed by your customized bag and vibrant red and yellow wig. You can then drape the red metallic fringe over your shoulders and wear it like a cape. (Keep it in place with clear tape).

Step 3: Over-Sized Orange Sunglasses Optional

They're the perfect finishing touch to your DIY costume!
