Hello everybody, we wanted to mix our love for science in the design of our jewelry. We really like the shape of the DNA helix and tried to make it using recycled pieces. We hope you like it.

Step 1: Watch Our Tutorial Explaining in Detail How to Work With Your Coffee Pods

To make these DNA shaped earrings, you do not need a lot of materials. You only need 3 Nespresso coffee pods (3 different colors), 2 headpins, 2 earrings, 2 small silver colored round beads, a rubber tube (3 mm) and a piece of paper.

Step 2: Cut the Rectangles You Need

Cut the top and the bottom of your coffee pod, these parts we do not need. Cut a little rectangle from a piece of math paper and use it to measure the 10 rectangles you need to cut from the coffee pod pieces.

Step 3: Cut Your Tube

Cut 10 pieces of tube. Hereafter roll the coffee pod rectangles around them. Use a needle to pierce the tube and the coffee pod.

Step 4: Finish the Earrings

Add the prepared pieces to a headpin. Add a little silver colored bead and attach it finish your earrings. Than turn each tube a little bit to get the helical shape.
