Introduction: Jewelry Tree Mounted on a Wood Framed Canvas

Supplies
One (1) three to five (3-5) yard roll of black 14 gauge wire
One (1) three to five (3-5) yard roll of silver 14 gauge wire
One (1) five to ten (5-10) yard roll of red (or colour of your choosing) 16 gauge wire
One (1) 8x10 canvas (wood framed)
One (1) piece of plywood or MDF cut to fit snugly inside the frame on the back of the canvas
Black acrylic paint (or colour of your choosing)
Paint brush
Drill or equivalent to drill holes through the canvas and into the MDF/wood
One (1) nut and bolt (to anchor the “tree” through the canvas and onto the MDF/wood at the bottom of the tree)
Nine (9) screws (one (1) to anchor the top of the tree and eight (8) to anchor the “falling leaves” through the canvas and onto the MDF/wood at the bottom of the tree)

Instructions
Paint the canvas and the MDF/wood black, or another colour of your choice.  I chose black so that the paint did not interfere with the look of the tree or jewelry hung on the tree.  Put aside to let dry.
Using three (3) wires at a time, take a 1.5-2 foot piece of each type of wire, fold in half, and twist together to make the “trunk”, leaving approx 4-6 inches untwisted for the top “branches” and “leaves” (curls to hang jewelry).  Repeat 2-3 times, depending on number of top “branches” and “leaves” desired in the top section.
Take a 1-1.5 foot piece of each type of wire, and starting from the bottom, wrap it around the “trunk” and up to form the branches in the mid section.  Repeat 2-4 times, depending on number of “branches” and “leaves” desired in the mid section.
Take a .5-1 foot piece of each type of wire, and starting from the bottom, wrap it around the “trunk” and up to form the lower branches.  Repeat 2-4 times, depending on number of “branches” and “leaves” desired in the lower section.
Make eight (8) coil like loops and pull outward to make an almost cone like shape.  These are the “leaves”.
Drill a hole through the canvas into the MDF/wood where the base of the tree is to be anchored.
Place screw through the loop in the bottom of the “trunk” and screw the tree through the canvas and into the MDF/wood.
Place one of the smaller screws in the upper part of the “trunk” and screw the tree through the canvas and into the MDF/wood.
Screw on the leaves where you’d like them.
Use a picture hanging kit or other mounting system on the back of the wood.
Mount to a wall and enjoy!
