Introduction: Rainbow Bracelet

At my local youth group we made little bracelets from just three strings. It was a lot of fun. But then I thought to myself. Why not make it bigger? Why not add a buckle? Why not make it ultra colorful? So I set to work to make one that was just that. And it came out beautifully!

I hope this instructable will teach you how to make a beautiful rainbow bracelet yourself.

Step 1: Materials

This is all you need in order to make a rainbow bracelet.

-twenty-seven strings of all the colors of the rainbow (12 inches longer than the circumference of your wrist)

-a parachute buckle for a 1/2 inch strap

Step 2: How to Braid

Tie three strings together at one end. Then lay out the strings so that there is one on the right one in the middle and one on the left. Take the string on the right and put it in between the string in the middle and the string on the left and take the string on the left and put it in between the string in the middle and the string on the right. Repeat this process again and again until your strings are fully braided together. Tie a knot at the end to keep the strings together.

Step 3: Braid It

Ok! Now to making the actual bracelet. Take your twenty-seven strings and braid them together in threes. You should end up with nine "strings" (each composed of three strings braided together). Then take these nine "strings" and braid them together in threes. You should end up with three "strings"(or if you prefer it "strips"). Braid these three "strips" together into a strap (tip: braid the strips together lightly so as to make the strap instead of a rope).

Step 4: Add the Buckle

Run your strap thru your buckle, fit it to your wrist, and tie it off. Cut off any extra.

Tada! You made a rainbow braclet!
