Introduction: Wooden Tile Ring

This ring is cute and adjustable!

Step 1: Supplies

  1. Adjustable Ring Base (not pictured)
  2. Blank wooden tile (or a scrabble tile)
  3. Scrapbook paper
  4. Sparklies (Glitter, rhinestones, stickers, etc.)
  5. Diamond Glaze

Step 2: Trace

Use your tile and trace it on the front of your scrapbook paper where you want your front of the ring to be. Do this on the front if your scrapbook paper is patterned with different things like this one. If your paper has a continuous pattern like polka dots or lines you can trace it on the back. Cut and erase lines if needed.

Step 3: Glue to Tile

Glue scrapbook paper to tile by adding a small amount of diamond glaze to the tile. Brush glaze out with a paintbrush and attach paper. Smooth out any air bubbles.

Step 4: Attach Sparklies

Attach your rhinestones, glitters, stickers etc.

Step 5: Add Generous Layer of Diamond Glaze

Step 6: Let Your Glaze Dry 24 Hours

Step 7: Apply Ring Back

After your glaze is fully dry, apply your ring back with a strong glue. I suggest super glue or E60000. Let fully dry.

Step 8: Done!

Congrats you're done! Ready to wear!

Keep in mind since you're covering you sparklies, some of them may not have the oomph that they had while 'raw'. Rhinestones in particular will 'blur' and lose their facets but still shine. I haven't tried putting rhinestones on top of a finished ring because I'm too worried they'd get scratched off if rubbed against something hard enough. I'll update as I decide to try it.

(Please note final pictured ring is not the same pattern as the one throughout the tutorial, I was impatient and wanted to finish so used a finished ring for the final photo.)
