Ive been trying forever to get some that work but I just can't! I made them out of paper and stuck match heads as the point struck them let them burn a little and try to shoot them but they go out before i can get them in pretty much they don't burn clean. I also tried hanging part of it out of the end and lighting it but that didn't work. I've tried many other things to. Any suggestions?

I hate sports on TV. In math class today, we were talking about how some major league baseball player who gets paid at least 1 Million dollars per year has a batting average of .235, which is pretty lame. Why the heck do people pay tickets or watch TV just to see average people play baseball or basketball or any sport actually? In that case, why don't people pay to watch kids play basketball in the gym or to watch adults play softball in their free time? It's the same thing, the only thing that the people who play sports in their spare time don't have is a huge corporation backing them up and putting their faces on TV. Secondly, it gets in the way of programs I want to watch. I turn on the TV at the advertised time to watch Family Guy, which was at 7:00, and instead I get to watch a baseball game with sub-par action. I don't really care about who won what game, and I don't see how this is any different from sports games that adults play out of their spare time. To make it worse, kids at school just talk and talk and talk about the sports games. Shut the hell up people! I don't care about the games, I don't care who won, I don't care about that pass or slam dunk, stop wasting my time. Boycott sports. Don't buy tickets, don't watch games, and DON'T BUY ANY TEAM JERSEYS THAT STORES HAPPEN TO SELL!

Hi I need help see I have been on the internet for days looking for a diagram, or someone, that could tell me how a blow torch works. Like if there is pressurized air in it, as my friend tells me but he's not a very reliable source. So please if you know such information or have a diagram of it I would be very thankful.

Well, apparently something is wrong with my sub amp, not the sub itself, at least it doesn't sound blown to me. But it definatly does sound different than last time I used it and there is a slight growling sound you can barely hear if you turn it up to a certain point, almost like the voice coil rubbing but a softer sound as I do know what that sounds like. Time to chuck the amp eh?

My wife was making potato wedges last night when in the middle of cooking the bottom burner catches fire and starts to sparkle like a party sparkler. I run for my camera and when I get back to the kitchen its over my wife turned off the stove and when I turned the stove back on nothing happens. Now that the fun part is over does anyone want me to do an Instructable on how to repair an oven element? The white marks are from the electrical fire.

Hi, I'm trying to build a simple robot gripper under a budget using this idea http://makezine.com/projects/universal-robot-gripper/. So from what I understand I need a vacuum cleaner that can change into an air blower with a flip of switch using the same nozzle. Is there any cheap option where i can make something similar? I was thinking of buying a cheap car vacuum cleaner or a cheap air pump and reverse the mode by reversing the motor polarity. Will that work? Really need a quick answer for my project, please help. Thank you!

stage 1 ok, so i have begun.the Blucky i chose to work on is a bargain basement Blucky, literally. when i made the trek to the Spirit Store and Party City last October, i happened upon some marked down Bluckies. they were 10 bucks, and not guaranteed to not fall apart in the store, lol. so i got a buggy and picked up a couple of them. the cashier pointed out that they were defective, did i still want them? of course i did! 10 bucks instead of 12, for something that i'm going to probably screw up anyway...so the 1st order of business is to fix the defective joints. i decided to disassemble it, and fill the bones with spray foam insulation. then re-assemble. hoping this will meld the pieces together well, and add a little weight. nothing looks faker than a Blucky blowing in the wind!it is laid out on the counter at the shop. the customers kept giving me strange looks.. can't imagine why! so i figure the excess that is oozing out can easily be trimmed away. i do have a back-up plan in case the spray foam won't hold firmly enough. it involves hot glue. hopefully it won't come to that though... the panty hose i plan on applying next should bind things well.STAGE2so today i began stage 2 of the Blucky. cutting his arm and leg bones to more closely resemble an actual body. i used my Dremel, and a razor knife to trim them up. i made a HUGE mess, and had fun. i'm sure i didn't do such a great job on this, but it is my 1st time. STAGE3so today i tackled stage 3 of teh Blucky corpsefication, carving the skull and ribs.ummm. it is MUCH harder to do the ribs than the skull, let me tell you! the dremel tends to 'get away from you' on the long curves of teh ribs. my carpal tunnel didn't help matters any, either! it's kinda crappy looking in fact... i am rather disappointed with myself. luckily they wont all be visible after the pantyhose goes on! the teeth proved to be difficult too. Danny said it looked fine, though. i do have some pics somewhere...we went to Lowe's last night and got some carpet latex to coat it with. the girl in the flooring department thought we were crazy at first, then warmed up and was interested in our projects and plans. she wants us to bring some pics by in fact!here are some of the how-to's i'm using as inspiration:http://hauntforum.com/showthread.php?t=8659http://www.fulcrumsites.com/haunt/html/corpsification1.htmlhttp://skullandbone.com/tutorial_02.htmiam kinda mixing and matching techniques. i'll be using paper towels or toilet paper, pantyhose, cotton balls, great foam, maybe cheesecloth and various colors of stains/paints.the hair my Blucky will have is Grade A. i had my long hair cut off, and instead of donating it this time, i plan to utilize it. the hair dresser kept asking me if i was sure i wanted her to cut it, she said it was "beautiful and so healthy!" i imagine i'll have to distress it little so it will look like it belongs on a rotted corpse. LOL!!!!i'm wondering... does anyone ever put remnants of rotten clothing onto their Bluckies they corpsefy?STAGES 4 & 5ok. so i worked on Blucky today at work. first i taped up the arm and leg bones that i had cut out with the dremel. this is probably a useless step... but i think i was trying to stall actually getting going with the scary part- the latex.i used some masking tape i bought at wal mart in the paint department. then i applied the pantyhose. this part caused customers to stop what they were doing and come watch. Josh and I struggled with it until we got 1 set on the right way, and one set on upside down, covering the arms and head. we overlapped the torso with both sets.now came the scariest part. donning the gloves and applying the latex. it stinks! i put down a couple of trash bags and dove in... globbing and smearing until it was covered. i had to warn customers away from it, so Blucky wouldn't stick to them! one guy nearly bumped into it, just walking by. maybe i should have done this step in the back room, away from people. i hope he turns out ok... hair, stain and paint are the next steps, when he dries out. STAGE 6so i stained Blucky. i think i got a lil heavy handed with the stain... but he is my 1st ever, so it's all good! i bought MinWax mahogany gel stain and a large pack of cheap brushes (getting my Lowes connection price of course- dented can)i placed Blucky's feet into a large box. having stained my kitchen cabinets once, i expected a HUGE mess... but the gel is marvelous! NO DRIPS AT ALL!i did get a little splattered onto my left hand and forearm, but that is because i'm a slob, LOL.several customers wandered over to watch, and inquire about him... several seemed genuinely interested in our Halloween obsession! a couple of kids who were there were thrilled, and assured me he looked totally gross! only 1 customer questioned why we were working on Halloween in February. this is a far cry from last year when i was detailing the tombstones at the shop and had people looking at me as if i were crazy... maybe i'm rubbing off on them, or maybe they are used to my eccentrics by now, LOL!Josh and i left the shop at 6, and Danny stayed over a few minutes, (he's painting truck parts in the back room) he said when he walked back through the empty, half-lighted, locked shop he caught Blucky out of teh corner of his eye and it spooked him! a sure sign of a job well done! anyway, i suppose Stage 7 for Blucky will be eyes... or LED's. definitely an LED in the chest cavity. this will be up to Danny, as i don't do wiring (yet, lol) so the ball is in his court!my motto? the couple who haunts together, stays together!

While trying to boil water today, there was a bit of flame briefly visible under the stainless steel kettle. Picking it up, it looked like a wet squished bug on the burner (actually bubbled metal or ceramic) ... and a slow leak in the kettle from a small burned spot. This seemed very contained. Many years ago when the oven element blew out it spewed white powder and tiny silver blobs all over the oven. So what is happening in the element when this occurs? (I don't really know what 'calrod' is made of.)

Non lethal poison blow darts.? I was thinking about making blow darts then the topic struck me, could common natural non lethal poisons or toxins be used in blow darts. This sounds a bit vague, so heres and example: you take poison ivy leaves and either wipe the darts on the leaves or grind up the leaves then rub darts in the mix. Would this work, how effective would this be?. I am not planning on even attempting to try this, this is for informational purposes

My tv (phillips crt widescreen) keeps blowing fuses. There must be some reason it keeps doing this, but I can't figure out why. I got it for free from a moving job because it didn't work (blown fuse), and then it worked for about 8 months just fine. Next fuse worked for about two months. And now it works for about five minutes before shutting off. But if I unplug it for a little while and wait, the tv will turn back on and have a picture for about five minutes. Any ideas?

So i have a '95 chevy suburban, and it has a few issues. at the moment, the biggest issue is my brake lights. Basically, when the vehicle is in accessory and i depress the brake peddle, my brake lights come on, YAY! but when i have the vehicle running and i depress the brake peddle, the 15 A fuse blows and the lights go out. now i have a schematic diagram for the whole vehicle (in parts), but im still trying having a hard time finding where my problem is. im sure there is a short somewhere but it is just all really confusing to me. thanks much in advance. note: night time lights work as well as all turn signals.

I have my sisters protable aircon here and with the summer on the way I am now finally required to see if I can fix it. But I am somehow lost with this one... Problem: The aircon runs perfectly fine as it is supposed to for about 3 - 4 weeks with usage depending on how hot it is between 4 and 6 hours a day. But without any warning, noise or things like that the compressor simply stops running - or does not start. Noone really noticed what happened but noticed it no longer cools. Fixes so far: During the warranty period, which is over now, the unit was replaced twice by the shop. After that it had to be dropped off at a repair center where the compressor was replaced twice. After each compressor replacement we were told the compressor failed because the unit was not used for weeks and then it had to run for too long - total bogus if you ask me.... Checks from my side: Twice I measured the failed compressors and there was no resistance in the motor anywhere, totally burnt out or a thermo fuse blown I would say. Even after 3 hours of ongoing use the compressor won't get any warmer than my fridge or freezer compressor. So I rule out overheating. Pressure levels seem to be fine too although I can only measure from the service port and can't check hot and cold side seperatly. However: The unit seems to have a timing/safety problem. On my aircons it is impossible to make the compressor start again once it completed a cycle, only once the gas pressure has equalised it will turn on again. If, for example, the aircon just shut off and you set a lower temp on the dial the compressor will jump in right away. Even worse if an additional fan is blowing in the wrong direction, then the unit might turn on again seconds after it shut off. Conclusions so far: I am at the point where I say the starting under still high pressure is causing the motor to stall and then burn out. Only other thing I can think of would be a very badly designed compressor.... Since the compressor is still working (so far) I am now tempted to add a resettable fuse that is just a bit higher than the nominal motor current. Questions: A fuse might help to protect the motor but certainly is not the best solution. Am I correct to assume that the motor will need far more power to start if the system is still under nominal pressure and not equalised yet? If all my assumptions are more or less correct then what would be the best place to add a timer that prevents the compressor from starting again too early? From what I can understand from the electronics inside it seems a set of triacs of thyristors is switching the compressor, but all marking on them are removed ROFL Would have to do some more digging to check for they are driven to draw a better conclusion on the type, might even be tiny SSR's !? ;) At this stage I would consider a simple 555 timer that activates once the compressor is turned off by the electronics. Once running the timer will block the signal to the triacs or whatever is used until the time is run out. Might even go for a simple timer relay if I can find one in my spre parts boxes. If I go for a 555, how can I integrate it ? Can I just keep the start signal for the timer high as long as the compressor runs? How do I "block" the start signal from the electronics to simply reset the timer before it runs out? Currently confusing myself here with the starting, stopping, timing and getting it between electronics and compressor :(

This is probably the dumbest question I've asked, and I know that me asking it and why I'm asking it is going to scare so many decent people. But I can ensure you that I'm taking appropriate safety measures when I do these kind of things. My questions is: I can either buy or easily build some sort of portable breaker box? I would like this box to be a sort of "test platform" of sorts, so I can make things that will plug into a 110 outlet (say a hotwire cutter) and if (for some reason) I do have a short somewhere, I will trip the test platform breaker, and not the fuse in my apartment. Reason I ask is I work graves, and it hard for me to meet up with my landlord. meaning, if I blow a fuse (which my apartment still uses) I will have to go 10+ hours on average before I can get it replaced. Thanks in advance!

While some teens use their summers to learn sailing, archery or soccer, Brandon Meadows attends Summer Explosives Camp in Missouri to learn how to use dynamite."Some people like baseball, others like math -- I just like to set off bombs," he said. "I figure here, learning how to do it properly is better than messing around with it at home, right?"Meadows is one of 20 teenage campers enrolled in a weeklong explosion camp in the Missouri Ozarks. At the camp, high school students from as far away as Egypt and Hawaii shoot dynamite, TNT and plastic explosives. The camp's leader, Paul Worsey, a professor at the University of Missouri, Rolla, uses the camp as a way to attract new recruits into the unglamorous field of mine engineering. He recruits students to help carry on the industry, which is facing a serious personnel shortage."It's critically important," Worsey said. "These are our workers to sustain this industry going forward."So far, the camp is working. Meadows has already enrolled in the explosives engineering program at the University of Missouri at Rolla for next fall. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=11226636

Hi all, I have a WAGAN Slimline 1500 watt Inverter. I ran the output through the breaker box in the house, which is grounded. I used my car to run the system, but had another, larger battery in parallel with the car battery. The unit ran everything in the house. Microwave, fridge, lights and TVs. Had the unit going for about eight hours, then decided to give it a break and turned it off. I then experienced a very dramatic fireworks / light / smoke show. I was most upset. I know enough about electronics to figure that the inverter was toast. I put it down and forgot about it. Two years later I broke out the electronics gear and decided that I would try and fix it (the fact that another storm had passed through leaving us without light again probably had something to o with it!) I found that the MOSFET's on one side of the circuit board, all eight of them, were completely gutted. Talk about your catastrophic faliure. The MOSFETS are Fairchild FDP8770 N-Channel. There are eight other MOSFET's on the opposite side of the board, LVP640's (N Channel also). They look fine. The fans were working at the time of the fireworks. My questions are: 1) Why did it blow up when the unit was being turned off? 2) If I start the car with the Inverter connected will it do any harm to it, and why? 3) I see three pots on the board, and am decent with a soldering iron. I want to fix it myself. Assuming I can get the parts I think it needs, Do I need to match the MOSFETs, which would mean I might have to throw away some good looking LVP640's, and how do I go about doing this? The board is set up with four transformers, and each is in series with a fuse. None of the fuses blew. I know that I'm kinda above my head in this, but I wanna try. Thanks for any help I can get!

I just bought 3..SONYMODEL SFF22C10 VDC 0.51 ADC BRUSHLESS FANs..from Princess Auto in the surplus section. It was just labled "Sony Blowfan", so I assumed that they were computer fans, so I could use them with my server I'm setting up. It turns out my server's motherboard doesn't have the correct outlet for the fans plugs. In fact, I haven't ever seen a fan with a plug as small as this is! I'm assuming that the red wire is positive+, the black is ground or negative-, and the white lets the motherboard control the speed. I will only need the + and -, I want the fan to go full blast all the time. It is only rated for 10 VDC, but could I hook up all three of the fans to one of the extra hard drive 12 VDC power cables (yellow and black wires)? Or do I need a resistor, with how much resistance? Also, so do I make the fan run full blast off of only power, when it needs the white wire to have a signal? This question has been answered! See if you can help me with the next step of my project.https://www.instructables.com/answers/Server-Airflow-Help/-Shadow Ops

I have a real problem with clubs where i live, the music is really really annoying (so called turbo-folkAnyway i want to know how i can stop them, suing doesn't help, too much corruption so i want to know if i can do something else, legal or illegal doesent really matter i once read something here about this sort of thing...If you want to take more sophisticated approach, you could try beaming your neighbor a strong radio signal, modulated with a specific audio signal. Unless his stereo is really well shielded, you may be able to find some resonant frequency that will get through, even if he's just listening to a CD. Sweep the radio frequency until you hear the audio signal from his stereo, then crank it up. You could even mess with his head, and talk to your neighbor through his own speakers! The same thing can be done through the power lines, by the way. I remember the electrical motor of our neighbor's high powered drill was starting to fail, and we could pick up the resulting sparks over our stereo system very clearly. in one of the clubs i can have a few minutes of full access so i considered writing a program that would add a parody song the the playlist, but i dont know how to disable their access to winamp so they cant stop it until the song ends and when its finished they should regain access...and the other has a wifi network i will try hacking into it,to see if i can do anything to mess with themThanks for any help, kind regardsAntonio M.
