A trial of the Pro subscription should be offered. At the very least, there should be an option to download sample pdf's to see if a subscription is worth it.

I've decided to test an idea for some friendly competition. The rules are simple: two volunteer members will be given a week to create an Instructable based on a common subject. Whoever creates the better Instructable (higher quality, cooler, featured, most voted for, etc) will win a patch similar to the images below. Because this is the first run, and I can't think of a subject, the competing members will have to agree on a subject of their choosing. If there is a flood of volunteers, the community will vote on who they want to see face off. In this trial, I will allow up to four separate pairs to compete. If this doesn't make any sense, well, I just woke up! :PThe stats are as follows:Lithium Rain VS. gmjhowe: Card, any kind of card, and it has to plug into a computer. Deadline: to be determined. Matt1497 VS. watermelonhead : Duct tape hoodie. Deadline: 10th of August. _x_VS._x_ :subject. _x_VS._x_ :subject.

Hello, I just stumbled across this site when I was looking for a DIY project off Pinterest and I was wondering if there are any trial offers? There is a PDF I'd like to download for a pallet playhouse for my daughter for this spring and it's so adorable! I wouldn't even mind to pay for one month if that were possible?! I'm just not sure if I would use this site a lot yet to pay for 1-2 years worth. But if I can do a trial it may persuade me otherwise! I would very much appreciate anyone's help this is for my first baby girl who is almost two now and I'm ready to make her spring and summer so much fun but on a budget with this cute pallet play house Thanks!!!!

The ad for supposed free trial offer of the two teeth whitening products by the so-called unemployed mom is a total scam & rip-off ! Not only will you be charged unauthorized from them but, also by other companies who are given your financial information. I am working with my bank right now after closing my account to get money back if possible. Do not trust any of those lying criminals! Steve

I am new to the site and was looking to see if anyone might be gracious enough to send along a pro membership code for a trial basis (was thinking a month or two). I just had my first son back in July and I am really interested in improving my skills in a few areas (wood-working, electrical, and tech related to raspberry pi). Looking to build a few cool projects for my boy and have the skills to pass along to him when the timing is right. The pro features (downloading some of the project PDFs, specifically) look like they would be really helpful in getting my feet off the ground and I just have a pretty limited budget (as one might imagine with a new born). Just thought I would throw out a line and see if anyone is willing. By the way - this site has some of the most amazing designs and DIY projects I have ever seen, hoping to stick around and contribute here when I can! Thanks!

Incase if you don't know what W.I.P Means it means Work In Process yes i will soon release a Battle Rifle to replace the Assault Rifle (its not a 3 round burst it only shoots 3 ammo at once kinda like a shotgun) it is pretty cool exept that you can see that little hole in the number area UPDATE well im sorry to say that i've been so busy that i dont think il be able to release it, but if you still want to use it then first, download Halo Trial and after you install it, go to the Halo Filefront place (in google search: Halo Files) then in the search bar type in: Halo 2 Mod for Halo Trial (NOTE: there will be 2 so click on 1 of them and if you see red letters and a link to a new version then click it)

Swiss adventurer Bertrand Piccard has unveiled a prototype of the solar-powered plane he hopes eventually to fly around the world. The vehicle, spanning 61m but weighing just 1,500kg, will undergo trials to prove it can fly through the night. The width of a jet airliner, but the weight of a family car, it is possibly the lightest plane (weight-for-size) ever to fly. When trials have finished - including a transatlantic flight planned for 2012 - the single-seat plane (designated "HB-SIA") should be able to circumnavigate the globe non-stop. Unfortunately, the pilot won't - at 20-25 knots, the flight should take three weeks, too long for a human to go without sleep. Instead, the flight is planned in five-day "hops", each ending with a change in pilot.Solar Impulse websiteBBC Story with video

I've been looking for a good program for making videos, and was wondering what other people have used. I tried the trial version of Vegas, but can't buy it because of the price. Anything over $100 is too much, ~$50 is better. Ulead has been suggested to me. It has to handle mpeg-2 video from a Sony Handycam, too.

I'm currently using FreeMill and the related free CAD software. http://www.cncportal.com/thankyoufree.htm I'm not complaining, but technology changes and I'm wondering if there is anything FREE (not trial versions) that might be better. If anyone posts links to pay versions that cost more than $150 I'm going to delete their posts because it is blatant SPAM.

So far a paddlewheel boat has the lead. Also have several other lawnmower engines and weedeater motors. The mower beds and bodys really catch the rust here and seem to melt in front of your eyes. hope for some ideas on screaming death machines.

You get a super-strong tear-shaped glass object that's incredibly strong-- stood up to repeated hammer blows on the bulb end. But when the "tail" is snapped, it bursts into powder. There's a wikipedia entry, but I need the name to find it again. I'd like to try it, but I need better info to avoid long trial/error sessions with hot glass.

So im browsing Instructables in Google Chrome now, and i was so bored, I thought I would post this forum. Lulz :-P

My recent Instructable (Shameless Plug) was featured, and apparently now they give out free 3 month Pro Memberships. Pretty spiffy. However, I've got an old account (meaning I can view all steps on one page, PDF stuff, and etc.) and was wondering if I accept this 3 month "trial", and then switch decide to switch back to basic membership. Will my benefits of having an older account disappear?

I'm looking for a Screen recording software that can export to Quicktime (.mov). I tried capturing what I want in avi format and then converting it, but the quality suffered too much. I want a screen capture that records directly to MOV. I had the Camtasia trial, so I guess I can't download it again... I also have Camstudio, but it can only export to avi or swf. Help??

To save me going through the trial and error stage (I can only eat so many Altoids), what is the best way to drill a matrix of neat 5mm holes in the lid of an Altoids tin? Centres will be 12.5mm (1/2") so reasonable gap between. How do you clamp and support the tin without bending it? What drill speed do you use? Centre-punch first? Drill pilot holes? Drill from the inside or outside? I have a bench drill and usual workshop stuff available.

Hello, So i am designing a circuit board using microhard pDDL2450. So after a few trial and contact help from them, I figured out the reason the board didnt work. The input voltage after pass through a voltage regulator doesnt rise fast enough, hence the chip wont turn on. So the next logical step would be designing an independent add-on circuit that can make the voltage rise faster. Any idea on how to do that ?

Everyone should beware of the teeth whitening ads on Instructables. One of the advertisers, Dazzling White, is a fraudulent company which, once they have your Credit card number, will continue charging your credit card forever. If you complain, they say they will send you an email to opt out but you will never get the email. They will charge your card in advance of sending you their product so you will get billed 2 or 3 times before you ever get anything. Their offer is a "trial" sample for which they will bill you something like $8. If you read the small print, which no one ever does, it says you have to cancel within 10 days of receiving your trial else they will charge you the full $80+ dollars, will enroll you in their "program" and start billing you $80+ every month. I had to get my credit card company involved in order to get them to cease and desist. No amount of pleading with them on the phone will work. They claim to abide by their "terms and conditions". I've been on the Internet a long time and this is the first time I've ever succumbed to fraudulent activity of this magnitude. I'm out $160 that I will never get back. Instructables!!! You need to get these crooks off your site. It's giving you a bad name. If you search the Internet, you will see hundreds of complaints about these crooks. Spread the word!

Hey, I want to make an external pulse generator, mainly so I can power a simple coilgun. I know I have to have a bunch of capacitors hooked up in parallel, but what value would be ideal? And what kind of transformer do I need? Say I use a 9v battery, how would I calculate the ouptut voltage? I know trial and error would work best for me, but I don't have any transformers lying around so I need advice on which one to get. Thanks.

I'm thinking, how long should it take from cold, to user temperature. I rarely run out of hot water, but the wife set it to come on at 4.30pm and go off at 7.30pm, the boiler clicking on and off throughout this period. If the boiler clicks off, does that mean its hot enough, or does the system build up the temperature in stages? I don't want to waste energy with trial and error, if someone can guide me roughly. Kind regards Mike

A Briton accused of hacking into top secret military computers has lost a Law Lords appeal against being extradited to stand trial in the US.Glasgow-born Gary McKinnon could face life in jail if convicted of accessing 97 US military and Nasa computers. He has admitted breaking into the computers from his London home but said he was seeking information on UFOs. Link to BBC website.According to McKinnon (in the video included in the article), he used a simple password hack ("blank password scanning") to look for UFO-related technology. In response, the US are using (abusing?) anti-terrorism laws to extradite McKinnon for trial. If found guilty, McKinnon could face life in jail. American officials involved in this case have stated that they want to see him "fry".Controversy abounds in this case:Britain has no choice regarding the extradition, because they have signed a treaty with America regarding the extradition of terrorist suspects. America, however, has yet to sign the treaty they are exploiting in this case.If an American citizen committed the same offenses against UK military computers, the US would prevent the extradition of their citizen anyway, because they are protected by the constitution. The case is being prosecuted retrospectively - when McKinnin hacked the military computers, there was no treaty, and his actions were not considered an offense. The US is (allegedly) using the same anti-terrorism treaty (the one they haven't signed) to force the extradition of around 200 UK citizens, mostly for non-terrorist offenses (such as financial crimes).

I'm trying to make a long inflatable rubber tube buy cutting a bike inner tube and then resealing the ends. I'm doing a bit of a trial run with all the suitable materials I have knocking about but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I need it so I can inflate the tube with little or no leakage (not to any great pressure) and I would like it to remain at least semi flexible so that means I cant just pack the last 2 inches with hot glue. Any suggestions? I plan to try poly-cement, epoxy, hot glue, super glue and melting the ends together but I'm sure someone has had some experience at this.
