New Layout Answered

I'm a very compulsive browser, and when I noticed that all the categories were no longer laid out in a neat little row at the top of the page, well i left and went here icanhascheezburger.com .. check the lay out.. kinda looks like the old one instructables had.. everything easy to find with out jumping through hoops.

That's my $0.02

I've been offline for a while (waves at everybody who didn't notice), right now is my first time on, and the change was a surprise, but a pleasant one.

I'll give it a few hours of browsing before I decide whether it works.

Yeah, I was on vacation when it changed so I was quite suprised when I came back and it was different.

Personally, I miss the oarnge on the front, but I actually like the new search engine.

The missing orange is only on the main page, nowhere else.  They got a copy of CS5 from Adobe and some sponsorship money to demo its "cool" Web features over the next few weeks.  Take a look at the little "5for5" sponsorship link for more information.

Same here.  I came back and was like, "Am I on the right page?".

I was so used to the orange on the front that it was quite a shock.

I think it would be better if there were a dropdown list of all the categories under each topic on the front page. I had to do a bunch of clicking to find what I wanted.

Good point - they exist on the actual projects, so why not on the main page?

(Unless the lack is a deliberate inducement to browse?)
