Proximity Sensor for FYP Answered

Hi! im currently making my FYP for product design and i have a very specific model of electronics i have to make. Basically i have to make a proximity sensor (well 4) that will respond with lights (vibration) when brought towards a receiver. Hopefully i can also make this trigger sounds that are pre recorded. Can anyone help me with the proximity sensor? i am in dire need! thank you

1. General consensus is that no one will do your work for your FYP, final year project, if that's what it means. But hey, we would be glad to point you in the right direction if you are stuck doing your research or thinking.

What sensor are you using and what specific electronics are you talking about? You are doing this with arduino or usb/serial/wireless to PC/Mac/Linux? What kind of programming is needed? Are the sensors ultrasonic/IR/light/capacitive sensing? Be more specific if you want some responses. Good luck.

Nah I wasn't asking for someone to do it, just some advice to a total newbie is all I'm asking, I'm looking for the smallest physical way to do it with least amount of knowledge needed, I mean I ain't totally stupid but I'm a product designer not engineer you know? Any help would be appreciated though thank you

Well, a product designer knows how to research and ask questions. Formulate a prototype and then modify the design to work out the kinks.

I'll play. What do you have so far? I would still need to know the answers to the questions before to guess what you are trying to do.
