SLOW SATA DVD WRITER?
I BOUGTH A SATA DVD WRITER. YES IT WORKS FINE BUT THE WRITING SPEED SUCKS. I MEAN IT CAN TAKE 4 MINUTES TO READ A WHOLE CD BUT BURNING IT ON ANOTHER CD TAKES ABOUT 11 MINUTES CONSIDERING I HAVE ANOTHER IDE CD WRITER WHICH TAKES ONLY 6 MINUTES FOR THE WHOLE PROCESS(COPYING AND BURNING). WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM WITH THIS SATA WRITER?

Check that it is set to DMA mode and not PIA mode. If it's PIA mode that will cause a slowdown.
If that doesn't fix it google "slow sata dvd drive" and start reading.
When sata first came out there were a lot of cd/dvd that did not work fast on sata (using and adapter) but you said that this was a sata drive so that should not be the case.

There may be no problem; it may just not be optimized for high-speed writing of CDs (as opposed to DVDs). Check the specs, check the specs of the other writer. (Probably should have checked before you bought.)
Also, check your caps-shift key; it appears to be stuck.
