What do i make my blades out of on my mini wind turbine?
MIni wind turbine blades: Hi I am 12 years old and my hobbie is building and electronics. I am making a MINI WIND TURBINE that has to be waterproof. I am making it out of an old wind up torch. Everything is covered apart from the blades. I do not want to spend any money and buy one of the internet and i cannot really use metal because it is a mini wind turbine. I live in england and i do not have a local hobbie shop near me so any ideas will be apreciated. (if thats how you spell it)

OR you could cut up a milk carton (plastic) and form blades out of that fixed into a wooden hub by cutting a slot in the hub and putting a screw through to hold the plastic blade.

Or you could use a square of plastic milk carton to make a pin wheel type blade.

There's an i'ble here that makes turbines from PC fans.
They used I believe it was a shampoo bottle to make some really slick fins. Looked nice and I bet they work well.

How about a bent wire frame (old coat hanger) covered with light weight fabric (outgrown school shirt) and then painted with gloss paint. There is always a tin of left over paint in the shed or garage :-)
You can be as fussy with the frame/former as you like to get the correct angles for your blades and none of the above should cost you much if anything.
