As Ork says, can't be done. RF is a HIGHLY specialist area, and even as a professional electronic designer, knocking out a wi-fi design is not in my area of expertise

Can't really be done. Your WiFi hardware was designed to connect to an antenna rather than outboard electronics, and licenced for specific signal levels. Also, the 2.4GHz frequencies require some expertise to work with.

Also, amplifying incoming signal would amplify noise as well. You might not gain as much as you expect.

Better solution: Directional antenna on one or both ends of the connection. See many suggestions here on Instructables, and/or websearch "Cantenna".
