group idea Answered

Hi, I'm Tieguy, I've been thinking about creating a group that would bring developers, musicians, programmers, inventors, people who are interested in games and robotics and any forms of geek together to work at common causes. For example, if someone came up with an idea for a game or application but didn't have a certain skill or equipment that it would require they could come to the group and ask for help, or if someone wanted to learn a skill they could ask someone in the group to give them a few pointer. I came up with this because I've got thousands of ideas for application, inventions, games etc. but half the time i don't have the resources or skills to make it a reality. Anyways, I was wondering if I created this group any one would consider joining. If it became popular enough I would go on to creating a website. please post any comments.

. Why not just start a topic in the appropriate group? "Here's what I want to do. Here's where I'm having problems. Help!" . It's a great idea, but, as Adrian pointed out, it's been tried before and didn't seem to work out. There were plenty of volunteers, but hardly anyone took advantage of it. . But don't let that stop you. If you think you can make it fly, go for it! Maybe the time is right or maybe you can do something different that catches ppls' eye.

i agree with nacho, the group your asking for, is infact the entire instructables website. If youve got an idea, hit us with a topic, and thats it. nice and easy.

What I mean is to have a group of people work together on a project instead of one person does a project and posts how to do it. You could have one person thousands of miles away from you working on the software for something while you're working on the hardware or you could have an entire group of people working on software that are scattered around the country/world. you could build an entire operating system or the next best computer game with out ever meeting the people you work with.

ah i see, i which case i would suggest, starting a topic, asking for people to help. Then set up a collaberation, which allows people to work on the same -ible from where ever,

I think this is an awesome idea, although partially implemented already.
