Introduction: Easy No Cook Playdough

When I was younger, I loved playing with PlayDough. I could create anything I wanted to, which lead to hours of fun making and building different things before I squished them back into a ball and started over. Sometimes however, the colours placed limitations on my masterpieces and the plain appearance became boring. So, my Mum started making it. This Easy No Cook PlayDough is an ideal recipe for kids as it is quick, easy and can be personalised to fit your child's creative needs. Not only can they have fun playing with it, but they can also join in the process of making it as there is no oven or stovetop required. It's sure to keep them busy for hours.

Step 1: Collect Ingredients

1 cup Plain Flour

1 tbs Cream of Tartar

1/4 cup Salt

3/4 cup Boiling Water

1/2 tsp Food Colouring

1 tbs Vegetable Oil

Glitter (optional)

Step 2:

Place the Plain Flour into a large bowl.

Step 3:

Add the Cream of Tartar.

Step 4:

Add the Salt.

Mix well to combine.

Step 5:

In a seperate jug measure out the water.

Add the food colouring to the water and stir.

Step 6:

Add the oil to the water.

You will need to stir vigorously in order to partially incorporate the oil.

Step 7:

Pour the oil and water mixture into the flour.

Only add a small amount of water at a time, as you my not need all of it.

Step 8:

Mix until the mixture forms a soft dough.

Begin using a wooden spoon to mix, however once the dough has formed and you have finished adding the water, you can begin to knead it with your hands.

Step 9: Optional

Add the glitter to the dough, kneading until it is evenly spread throughout.

You can add as much or as little glitter as you would like, however adding small amounts at a time will help it incorporate better as well as make it easier to mix through.

Step 10:

Your PlayDough is complete and ready to play with!

Be sure to store it in an airtight container to keep it from drying out.
