Does anyone know why there are no more international contests ? (all contests are limitied to entries from the US, Canada, UK and Australia) what happened ?

Is there a time limit for how long after you publish an instructable, it can be entered into a contest? (if not, there should be...maybe a year) Is there a limit to the number of times the same instructable can win a contest? (if not, then it should be limited to once)

If i submit multiple entries in a contest, will they have an effect on the judging of each other asides from the fact that only one can win. Will he user be kept in mind while judging the entries or will they all be judged separately and the highest scoring one be awarded? ty

Do you think there is going to be a Halloween contest this year? I hope so b/c I'm working on something Halloweeny. Plus it seems like during the Halloween cotest someone always complains/whines about their project not being a finalist or someone pirating their idea, which can be entertaining. I had some other contest ideas: Most Likely to be Sold in an Infomercial. (Stuff that is in the tradition of Ron Popiel) Practicallity Contest. (Stuff that may not be sexy, but is very useful) Dark Ages Contest. (The projects couldn't contain LEDs or electronics.) Vacuum Contest (Ibles for the vacuum cleaner or that use a vacuum. You'd want them to suck. :) Just a couple of thoughts.

Just wanted to ask if yous are able to make the contests open to New Zealand? I see you have Australia in there but what about us here in NZ? I work at a after school center for youth and I have a few members that would really like to enter the LED competition you have going at the moment. They have just started thinking about something and then I saw the fine print that the comp was not open to us. Could this change anytime soon?

So where is the total of votes for our projects? Sorry this is my first contest here so I do not know these things. I see page views and favorite but how do we know how many votes we have? Someone said that winning is not by votes alone, so does this mean we could have a low number of votes and still win a contest? I am confused, lol

Hello, one of my friends is working on designing and manufacturing products related to schools, education etc. These products are all made of PP sheets. He is also producing those sheets. Project bags, sheets, files, school bags, bookcovers form some of their product line. A PP (Poly propilene) sheet is an environment friendly new technology which can substitute older plastics in the manufacture of lots of products. PP can be molded into products, can be produced as wide sheets. And the material is very colourful, produced in any color you like. My friend and his company is very willing to sponsor a new contest about products made of PP sheets. And can supply the winners' presents etc. can someone from instructables.com contact me about this? thanks.

I was looking at entries for the Glovebox Contest and saw a couple that didn't seem to have anything to do with cars or travel of any kind. Did the moderating system change? I also saw an ible for a bike in that contest. Is the contest open to motorcycle/scooter/bicycle entries as well?

I tried to post this earlier but either something went went wrong or I was too blonde to find it, so if i is adouble plese ignoreand delete! My intention was to enter the Make it Glow contest with a better and more complete version of my forever Light. But after checking some entries I decided against it. There are a lot of totally unrelated entries in the contest and I fail to see the point in entering if obviously noone cares about what goes into a contest. For example a hovercraft, cordless screwdriver, fingerprint scanners, remote controlled robots, space doors or cmputer controlled flower pots..... I though the reason for a contest would be to have stuff in there that fits th contest.... I know some standards are not that high but isn't it a bit too low to allow totally unrelated entries into a contest??? Me, I simply don't see how a contest can be fair if the entry rules are already being completely ignored and obviously noone here cares to remove those entries... For that simple reason I won't support a contest with my entry.

Hi, I would like to enter the contest https://www.instructables.com/contest/huntergatherer/ with my instructable https://www.instructables.com/id/Improvised-fishing-equipment-tested/ but I can not. I entered only 1 contest with this instructables and I have read that according to rules I can enter 3 contests with 1 instructable. I would also like to ask why I can not enter contests with some older instructables that are also used only once. Regards

Just curious about the rules of the book contest (and other contests) I noticed that Kipkay has some of his instructables entered in the book contest. Just wondering since Kipkay works for Make if this was entirely fair; I mean most contests don't allow people even remotely affiliated with the entity running the contest to participate. Not saying that I necessarily have a problem with it; just pointing it out.

I'm really sorry if this is an ignorant question, however, I'm a bit confused with several of the contests as of now. Many of them are giving me the option to vote on entries. I thought the voting phase was supposed to start after the contest deadline. Is that not so?

In the contests tab when you list all the contests can you sort them in increasing order of end dates. That is, contests closing sooner are listed higher in the list. Those that have closed would always be at the bottom of the list. This makes it easier to quickly identify contests which have very less time left and jolt our grey cells into action. On a similar note, a graphical printable calendar schedule of all the contests for the next 3 months or so that I can pin up on my wall as a reminder to submit an entry would be nice. Printable post it type notes might also help, this way I take a printout of those contests I am interested in and paste them on my wall calendar. (now there's an idea for an ible :-) )

It seems like the Paint It! Contest has been stuck in judging for a while now. I was wondering when the winners will be announced. Also, (I may have imagined this) weren't there "runner up" prizes initially available in the contest? https://www.instructables.com/contest/paint/

I would like to see an instructables contest for ideas, games, tricks, any witty way to raise money for nonprofit organizations.(example: something one can do at a table at a festival, try for a dollar) a contest that helped out nonprofit organizations is even more important during these hard times Spending is down and donations are even further down. It is not the organizations that suffer it is the people they help who suffer.
