How to fix Windows 7 laptop after downgrading from Windows 10?

I recently upgraded  to windows 10 to try out the new OS. However I found that I preferred my old windows 7 OS better. Thus, I decided to revert back to my old operation system. I went into settings and under recovery found where it said "Go back to Windows 7" and clicked on it. I let it go about its business and when I come back, my computer no longer starts up. It repeatedly gives me an error along the lines of "The computer encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click 'OK' to restart the computer , and then restart the installation." But when I click okay, the computer simply restarts and I get the same message again.  The problem is that I do not have an external backup of all of my files because I did not expect anything like this to happen. If there is any way I can solve this problem without losing the files that I have I am all ears. Please provide any help or suggestions you can as I need to get my laptop up and running again. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 7750G-9807 running Windows 7 Home Premium. Please help, anything in greatly appreciated!

What will take sediment and water stain off of windows?

I have a couple of windows at work, that have this cloudy appearance on them.  When they are still somewhat wet, just after I clean them, they look good until it drys.  The haze and or cloudy appearance is still there.  I'm guessing it's from the sprinklers and or whatever is in the water and baking in the sun for twenty years.  Does anyone know how I can get this window clean and clear to see through again?

Is there a free way to emulate Windows XP on a Linux based system?

I'm getting a bit annoyed at Windows, and almost everything I use is freeware already anyway. My problem is that most, if not all, of the programs I use were designed for Windows. If I could make a Linux system work with all my Windows programs, I think I would be much happier.

Upper Part of Window won't come down and its covering the screen?

Bought a home in November. After crazy requirements for my bank loan and township requirements, the past owner hired his nephew, and let's just say, he went a little paint crazy. Yes inspection wise and walk through wise we opened the windows. (These are the old chain windows)  I honestly don't remember if the top part of the window were pulled down to test. But I know the bottoms opened at one point. I moved in, and since it was winter, I never thought anything about it. Fast forward to today....dying to open some windows. Got the bottoms up with resistance and then realized the screens were pulled all the way up to the top behind the upper window with a lock on them. Went to pull down the top part of the window to get the screen and they won't budge at all. Can't pull the screen down from the outside because of the lock. This is only on 5 windows on the first floor and 1 in the upstairs bathroom. The two rooms downstairs that are the problems are my living room and dining room, yet we did not have a problem with two very small windows that frame the others . (same age and type of window, just half the size in width)We were able to do my bedroom no problem. Got chisels and putty knives etc....they aren't budging. I heard to also try on the outside since they may have been painted out there too. I also heard they may be nailed or screwed in. All of the windows appear to be the same type and age (the house was built in 1930...unfortunately I do think they are original to the house) We will try from the outside and also check for screws. My fear is that it is just the age of them. Any other ideas???? A side question that may sound stupid? If I can't get them down, is there any way to get temp screens already made to put in on the bottom since I can't get the ones that are there down? We have heavy duty screen that we used to redo my porch door after my dog put a hole in it...I'm very close to stapling it up to the windows or something because I'm already feeling hot and claustrophobic !!! : )

How can I install Windows on a machine that is currently running Linux? None of my Windows CDs will boot!

I had decided some time ago to re-install Windows on one of my computers, so I went ahead and blanked the entire disk. When i went to install Windows with an old XP disk that has never not worked, the computer just did nothing past the BIOS start-up screen. Frustrated, I put in an Ubuntu CD, and it installed just fine. So I just left it using that for a few months. Now I want to play with the Windows8 Developer Preview and the machine refuse to boot from it too! It will just sit for a moment and then boot into Linux. That same CD installed Windows 8 on my laptop just a few days before. I even went back and tried a Windows98 CD and still nothing. Is there something here that I'm missing? The boot order in the BIOS is set to DVD first, but it just keeps skipping over it. Thanks for any help!

Has anyone ever mated flexible solar panels to vertical window blinds?

If you think about the amount of square footage that your average window or sliding glass door has, that's a LOT of potential space for solar panels! Are there any manufacturers that do this or has anyone here posted something about this?

I`m sure that all my files are on the C disk and they are not read only…just week ago I was able to open it. My friend adviced me to make a scan disk and check my computer for viruses, but it didn`t help in the issue. Can you give me some tips how could I solve this problem?

Heat conduction containment between windows and curtains

How do I contain the heat rising between curtains and windows in east and south facing windows? (on the cheap, please) It will spread across the ceiling and blast into the room...ugh...? I just installed new thermal draperies that go from floor to above window but there is that gap at the top...and no room for a valance type box... The east windows span 124" x 69"--5 Anderson type windows. The left and right ends of the windows (5 panes) are the ones that open. The south wall is 124" by 56"--two panes, both crank open. Any good easy practical suggestions?
