Instructables profile picture spreading across all my profiles EVERYWHERE Answered

Hi,
I have uploaded a profile picture to Instructables that is a bit humorous.  However, now this picture is spreading across all of my accounts on the internet!  I know that the ONLY site to which I uploaded this picture is Instructables.  The picture was appropriate for Instructables but is inappropriate for many of my other accounts. Somehow, my image has "escaped" and is being automatically captured by other websites.
I am attempting to stop this profile picture from spreading any further. Can you PLEASE let me know how this picture could be spreading across all of my accounts!?
Thanks in advance,
Nathan.

Thanks for your replies. I believe I’ve got it sorted i think my browser was trying to be helpful. I’ve changed my security settings and signed up for a few more things. I’ve had no further trouble. I don’t think it was Instructables, I think it was something local. Fingers crossed.

It is technically impossible that a profile pic used here would "infect" you accounts for other websites and services.
Reason is dead simple: they all require login and they all have different ways to get to and change your profile pics.
The only way a pic can get to other websites that require login is if you have all login details stored in your browser for automatic login AND if you would have been infected with a new trojan / virus that does that.
A more likely reason might be cached content in your brwoser, system or from your provider.
Did you check the issue with a different computer, phone or a proxy?

You've got me stumped!

You're the only one that should be able to set or change your profile pictures (on any platform online). If you're synced up with things like facebook or google+, you may need to check your settings within those systems and make some adjustments.

If you still need help, would you write up a little more detail of what's going on and email it to us at service@instructables.com? I'll make sure one of our devs takes a closer look to see if there's anything wonky going on that's within our power to assist you with. Thanks!

Um... do you log into your account(s) with Facebook?
