Laser beam oscillating from low to high power? Answered

Hello, i have a green laser pointer, that i love to use. I put new batteries in it, but the beam was oscillating, mean when i pressed the switch and holding it, the dot was high-low-low-high etc.. and now its not tuning on!! when i watch trough the hole, while pressing the button, a tiny red square is in the centre of it, but no green beam. what could it be?

So basically everyone tells me not to look in my laser's beam, but no one tells me how to fix it..

You are looking into the laser with your naked eye, DONT DO THAT.
Try new batteries you may have replaced them with the wrong ones.

It is 3V, double AAA batteries. I bought some 10piece AAA battery pack at an Ikea store. I have the same batteries in a flashlight, it also struggles to turn on, i have to shake it to make it work. could the problem be the batteries?

If it's one of those cheap key chain lasers the button may be going bad.

It's a Laser Pen, bought for cheap from a friend, it had dead batteries, i bought some new ones and it worked, but i had to jiggle the laser to make it go full power. and now it doesn't even turn on.

I always have to jiggle the batteries to get my green laser to work.
sometimes tap the non output side to a wood block.
