ROV Update. Answered

Just a small heads-up, I've updated a couple of the images on my ROV concept 'ible with something more useful.

I had looked at that briefly, were you powering it with an electric motor and a cam configuration (the magnet arrangement on the inside)?

Eventually - as it stands, though, it's just proof-of-concept for the mechanism. Doing a back-of-the-envelope estimate, the full version is going to have to wait until next Summer, at least.

Ok, I was wondering if you would be using the same type of cam that drives the valves of an internal combustion engines of more than one cylinder, maybe a group of timing belts...nah too many belts; or closer to the actual "crankshaft" type of configuration. I do like the idea :-)

Well in theory you could directly use the cranks of a V-twin engine ticking very slowly with one cylinder a side, the disadvantage might be a bit of vibration, however it would be efficient compared to reciprocal to rotary to reciprocal again.

. If the port wing is on the left side, why is the port hole in front and not on the left? Shouldn't it be a fore hole? heehee

Hey Kiteman, your project is looking more like a "Spanish Dancer" nudibranch, than a Manta.

...which is why I don't usually include my sketches in a finished 'ible.
