Regular Knex sets? Answered

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy knex sets that are entirely composed of the standard sized knex? I've noticed that micro knex dominated over many of the value tubs. I intend to find a set to build knex guns

Ebay. Buy job lots, or if you're particular buy the slightly more expensive types of parts form knex sellers. The rule of thumb (I've found) is job lots go for cheap as its parent getting rid of old toys. Lego however, seems to increase in price on ebay. By a lot. Its extremely desirable stuff to adult Lego collectors.

Word of warning: always rinse the job lots in washing up liquid+warm water before use. I've had some reeking of cigarette smoke after 3 rinses, so ask about smokers. Also wash as peace-of-mind, an over-excited 3-year-old could have mauled it with sticky hands.

The 700 piece set that was the main prize in the R&C contest has purely normal K'nex. I have two of them.

Regardless of whether "clean" tubs exist, I highly recommend trying to score some from online, or at least check around at garage sales and/or ask your friends. Much more bang for your buck.

It's on Amazon, Ebay, and the K'NEX online shop...

The problem is that most new knex include weird new parts, micro parts, odd colors, and not enought just plain old classic knex.

Well, several of the sets on those sites say "classic" on the labels.

Knex in the past few years has gone to crap. Ebay is the place to pick up large amounts of classic knex for cheap.
