I'd like to know how to repair a drill chuck that keeps slipping.

Typically, if your drill chuck continues to slip even after tightening it, it's best to just go ahead and replace it.

AH, that's what I was afraid of. After drilling several large-diameter holes with my (beloved) hammer drill, the bits have started to loosen and slip. So far it only happens with masonry bits, and large diameter forstner bits, but I have a feeling it's only going to get worse. *sniff* I love that drill...

Yea, Hammer Drills create loads of vibration and are notorious for causing the chuck to vibrate open. I would suggest using a Rotary Hammer which will actually lock the bits in place preventing the chuck from vibrating open. Hope that helps!
