Hi, Does anyone know how to make one of these Cheers

um, maybe get a relay, and put power thru it, when there is not enough amperage left, it shuts off

For the motor to speed up like this - you should be able to use an over-voltage detector, which is much easier to source and to make.

Thanks but I dont think that is what i was looking for. What I need is something that will detect if the curent in a circuit drops i.e if a motor driving a fan via a belt and the belt snapped, the current would drop so i would like to then stop the motor.

. Try searching for "undercurrent relay", "protective relay", and "current monitoring relay". . I'd get a current transducer and wire it to a comparator. Will need a timer to prevent tripping on startup. . Another option is to monitor fan or belt movement.
