Make a collection, go to your Ibles and add them.

Once you made a new collection you will find a button with your Ibles to select to which collection you want to add them.

Looking at an Instructable (it doesn't have to be your own), you should see a button near the top that says "+ Collection".

Click it.

You will then get pop-ups that either allow you to add the instructable to one of your existing collections, or to create a new collection.

So I'm interested in this, too. What is a collection exactly? Is it a place to "collect" together all your favorite ideas of the same theme into one place? And these aren't all your own instructables, right? So I guess I don't get what it's for exactly. And how do you get people to see them? You publish it as an ible like "15 ways to reuse a lightbulb" and then people can look it up as if it were your own ible? Please explain :)

Another few Qs: 1) So a collection is basically showcasing others (and your own) instructables? 2) And it publishes as a separate "ible" (I know it's a collection, but for lack of a better word)...so there's THEIR ibles, and then your collection that also has their ibles (and your own) in it? 3) When people view your collection or their ible, does it automatically show up those "views" in BOTH people's profiles? 4) Do you have to have their permission before you can add their ible to your collection? and 5) Are you notified if someone adds your ible to their own collection? THANKS in advance for clarifying...I'm trying to get a feel for all the rules, regulations, and/or ettiquette surrounding this making of collections before I attempt one. :)

If somebody looks at the collection, the collection gets a view. If they click on a project with the collection, that project gets a view.

You don't have to ask permission (because you're linking to the work, not copying it), and they don't get a notification.

Ok. So they're only for instructables? They're not for putting together compilations from the internet? Or can that be done just as your own instructable (with proper citing)?

If you want to show off other people's work from other sites, you do that in the forums, not an instructable.
