Anyone know how to get a bubble out of cardboard matting? Answered

I had a roof leak that dripped onto a matte I was preparing for a photo project. It has created a little bubble.  I am wondering if anyone knows an easy way to fix this little trouble spot? I'd rather not have to get a whole new matte.

Bubbly spray paint?

I was painting my Nerf gun using Rustoleum spray paint. All went well and I let it dry for a week (yes, it says 1 hour but I was too busy for a week). Then I decided to put a Matte Clear Coat from Rustoleum and the paint started bubbling up. The clear coat did not bubble but the other paints did! And what's weird is that it only bubbled in certain areas. What happened and what's the solution?

Smoke

Hello, I have an e-cigarette pushed into the cushion of a Whoopee cushion, and taped to tubing that runs under a black matt. A whole in the matt allows smoke to rise from the matt when I step on Whoopee Cushion. Problem Whoopee Cushion pops and doesn't give enough smoke to be impressive. Would you know of a solution like some kind of mini smoke machine that will give the smoke we need? Below attached is photo of Whoopee Cushion, e-cigarette, and tubing running under matt. Thank you, Alexander

I'm having a problem with my Arduino IDE where I can't upload my programs. I have tried multiple version: 1.6.9, 1.6.13, 1.8.4, 1.8.5 but the problem is always there. To test each version I used a test program that should have said "Hi" in the serial monitor, but every test resulted in the following errors:If someone could please help me fix this problem, it would be grately appreciated! Thanks, Matt

How can I make an exercise/yoga matt out of household objects?

I like to exercise but ohhhh does the scratchy carpet and hard floor hurt!!! And I really don't want to spend the crazy amount of money they charge for something so simple. Can anyone give my ideas of what i could use to put together an exercise mat with just some junk lying around the house? (it doesn't have to be pretty lol)

K'Nex Computer & Calculators!

Check it out: some students Olin College have been building calculating devices entirely out of K'Nex! These are totally fantastic old-school devices, ball-powered. My inner geek is having fits of joy.Check out some pictures of their stuff here.Unfortunately they don't have complete instructions up! They should definitely post the whole thing on Instructables- I sent Matt a message earlier today. If you want to see his project on the site, drop Matt an email and tell him he should post the directions on Instructables! His contact info is here.

Any ideas on how to make this giant photo frame?

Hi! I'm slightly obsessed with this giant photo frame (see attached). I'm pretty sure it's just a concept / one-off, and it's not something I'd be able to afford anyways, so I'm considering how to DIY it. I've got some good ideas for the outer frame rim, but I can't come up with a way to make the huge back plate and matt that would look nice and not be too heavy. For the backplate I could probably use posterboard or 3mm MDF, but I'm not sure of how to join two or more sheets together that won't significantly add to the weight. At this size there will also be some serious stability issues - it'll need some sort of cross bracing. For the matt, I think I could maybe just use nice cardboard and cut the picture holes by hand, carefully lining up adjacent sheets. Proper matt material I think would be way too expensive for something that size. Any ideas? Thanks Alex

Sealing stone

I was just wondering if anyone out there knew how to seal stone in such a way as to make it useful as a food service platter or maybe a cup. I know its possible to use glaze like one would on a piece of pottery (or maybe tile sealant?) but I would like to find some way that 1)doesn't require a kiln and 2) leaves the rock looking like regular rock. Best would be a way that makes the rock look wet but matte and doesn't change the texture.

Is it possible to make a bass drum kick pedal that runs on usb and would be compatible with midi? Answered

I've got a midi drum controller that I like using [and would rather not destroy for the project], but I would much rather use a kick pedal for bass than my fingers. I was wondering if there was a way to make a bass drum kick pedal that was compatible with midi live (for example usb or something), as opposed to having to convert the audio to midi and all that mess.
